Looks overwatered and they managed to miss some of the rain that was forecast. Otherwise it could have been soft!!

You could lay off if you were sure the ground wasn't suitable.
It is windy which may be affecting the times, its just there finishing strung out and the times are slow. Headwind or over watered or both?! |

Doncaster latest: Quick side
The ground is officially good to firm and clerk of the course Roderick Duncan said: "We have 10mm of water on this week and we have been trying to get the grass to grow but it is definitely on the quick side of good." By David Carr, live from Doncaster (2 hours ago) ![]() |

Its probably closer to good with the wind helping to slow the times up a bit.

He said definitely though

Probably closer to gd/sft any showers tomorrow will make it gd/sft 9.5 going stick do me a favour, the ground must have varied over the track as still gd/fm ground form horses ran ok and softer ground horses. The stands side not being an advantage shouldv'e been a giveaway if it truely was 9.5.

about time BHA introduced an independent tester who can inspect all the courses and give a consistent going description.
The clerks are clearly biased and appear to have differing relative opinions of what rates as good, good to firm or good to soft ground etc. Agree with the above posters, don't think there was Good to Firm ground anywhere yesterday. Yet that's what Doncaster, Leicester and Haydock somehow all managed to "achieve". |

And when you look back on this, you will see g/fm in the formbook.....
We campaigned for three years on this issue & apart from a few notable exceptions, we were blocked at every turn, because it is no longer in British Racing's interests for punters to have accurate information that might lead them to deduce what might actually win these races.....Gross Profits Tax has seen to that..... |

The Leicester ground description was by far the worst
|

There was a strong headwind at Leicester which explains the slow times.
