depends what price range your normal selections blah blah blah

Nearly always 10/1+ and only ever to win.

would have thought you were all right there
but BFSP may be changing imperceptibly |
|
By:
Due to the lack of liquidity these days on the outsiders. I find I have to use bfsp so I can get my money down.

It's the equivalent of backing on the Tote in my opinion, backing against yourself, any decent amount put on at BFSP, will significantly reduce the odds, looking at some place prices recently where a decent place price and liquidity were available before the off on the exchange, the BFSP was ridiculous, one 21.00 BFSP winner paying a quarter a place , returned a place of 3.50 BFSP ie 5/2, there were a lot of threads awhile back in uproar over BFSP, do you really think that any firm who are know offering fixed odds, but who will not take a bet or will reduce it to the amount that's available to arb themselves on their own exchange, are going to carry a liability when they can control BFSP in my opinion.

I never do bfsp in the place market as I agree the place odds are poor to say the least.
|
|
By:
Well if they won't take a 100 win on a 16/1 shot on their fixed odds, why would they leave themselves open to a bigger liability ie bigger odds on the exchange always than the bookies, isn't there? when it's themselves who are paying you out if it wins, if you get my drift, i hope I'm getting across what I'm trying to say lol

Hi Gandalf.
Thanks for taking time out to help with this. I kind of get it but not 100% lol. I am just trying to work out best way to get say £100 on a horse that is trading on the exchange at say 30 but only has £6 available etc. |
|
By:
that's my point they won't take it on their fixed odds say at 16/1 or 20/1 but surely if you say fine and then have it on the exchange at BFSP and at 30.00 unless it's piled on, it's hardly going to come in loads, so you would be expecting a near enough BFSP to the 30.00 mark and they have to pay you when they refused you at 16/1 fixed. As I said above that 3.50 5/2 return was just because a lot of people were on at bfsp because it was available just before the race at + or - the 6.00 mark,on the exchange, i saw it, i thought the bfsp returns were based on averaging the exchange prices before the off so 3.50 was dire. I'm in ireland by the way, so I can get on in the shops because we don't have those FOBT's, they're illegal, which are the cause of all your getting on problems in the UK, risk free profits and less staff needed to man the shops, reducing overheads to increase profits.

I may get a bot to place bets a few minutes before the off. I know a few people do that kind of thing to combat bfsp issues. I wish I was in Ireland as the bookies here are just casinos now.

you could open a tote a/c and a purple and split it between the 3, snap up whats available here and purple then the balance on the nanny , like i said i back in the shops over here and have online a/c's no prob getting on as such, boyles a bit iffy, but if your know the manager/manageress in a few boyles shops it's not too bad.

That's probably the best idea thanks. I have a purple account and also a smarkets account as well.

It's ridiculous the situation in the UK regarding them not taking bets, I was clueless about how bad it was until I came on here and read stories of blokes getting knocked backed with a £50 bet and offered 20 @ the price and the balance @ sp and the horse priced at 8/1, it's absolutely unbelievable, I made a comment about it on a thread I opened this morning, people will complain on here, vday in, day out, but will not take the time to write a letter.

It is crazy I am by no means a huge player. However I am often offered half at the price and rest at sp etc. That is main reason been trying to utilise betfair more. However once I get away from the bookies and come on here seems to really impact profits. I have tried using these guys but not overly impressed so far. betbutler.co.uk

been a few complaints on here about them, dodgy crowd, don't live up to their promise of getting you on, it's ridiculous, you're giving them your poke and have to believe what they tell you, you really think they are just living on comm.,they're trading with your poke, have to be, like here they will only take a fixed odds bet to the amount thats available for them to snap up at better odds on their own exchange and you still get mugs backing fixed odds on here, they're not even BOG!!!

I have noticed price will be 20/1 then you have to confirm price next minute it is 16/1 etc. Hopefully between here, purple and smarkets get half my stake on and worry about the rest later in the day lol

suggest you read up on BFSP - it's not Betfair the bookies that pays out on BFSP, it's peer to peer (i.e. backers and layers) |

suggest you read up on BFSP - it's not Betfair the bookies that pays out on BFSP, it's peer to peer (i.e. backers and layers) I imagine the main lay side comes from unmatched lays taking the SP (Possibly a large fraction of that being traders locking profit or stop-losses). |
