Punchestown Day 3

Marito (Ruby)
runs in the 2m 4f conditions hurdle. He reverts to hurdles here after running well until falling two out in the Jewson Chase at Cheltenham. He was second in a handicap hurdle over this course and distance at last year’s festival and he is well suited by these race conditions. Hopefully he will make the most of the opportunity.

Twinlight (Ruby)
has his first run in a handicap in the 2 mile handicap chase. He has to give lumps of weight away all round but the trip is ideal and he has the advantage of being a course and distance winner. We are keen enough on his chance here.

Uncle Junior (Patrick)
bid to win the La Touche Chase over 4m 1f for the second year in a row. We are fitting cheekpieces  for the first time and hopefully that will help him concentrate in the early part of the race. We run three in the World Series Hurdle over 3 miles.

Quevega (Ruby)
is bidding for her fourth win in this race and, while this is a hot renewal, we are quietly confident.

Fiveforthree (David Casey) won this race three years ago and ran a great race at Cheltenham when third in the Coral Cup. He is in good form but this is a big ask.

Zaidpour (Paul)
is also very well but he too looks up against it.

We have two in the 3 mile handicap hurdle.
Letherbelucky (Paul)
is having her first run in a handicap and it is also her first time over this trip. We think she will stay and she could have an each-way chance.

Sarabad (Ruby) disappointed at Fairyhouse last time but has a nice weight and could run a big race if he puts his best foot forward.

Arvika Ligeonniere (Ruby)
runs in the Ryanair Novice Chase over 2 miles. He pulled up in the Arkle Chase at Cheltenham but is a course and distance winner here. He will handle the ground and hopefully he can reproduce his best form today.

We run two in the 2 mile mares novice hurdle.
Twigline (Paul)
ran well when a close second at Limerick last month but the overnight rain is not going to help her chance.

Upsie (Ruby) won her maiden in great style at Naas and will love this ground. We think a lot of her and she has a big chance here.

Turnandgo (Patrick) won very easily in testing conditions at Clonmel last month and has been working well at home. Obviously this is a much tougher race but we are expecting a good run.
