Couldn't decide, the heart said Quevega, the head said Solwhit, the more I looked at the race, the harder it became to split them. I've had a €1,000 at 6/4 with PP and a €1,000 at 2/1 with Lads.
Can't see anything else winning. Who do you fancy?
Basically your getting at least 4-1 on for your 2K, with the outside chance you could be getting 1-2 should the mare prevail. This type of betting would not be for me, even if I could afford it, but it seems to me all things considered you have as jump races go a sound enough investment. However with the likes of Holywell’s progression in the hurdling ranks looking far from over, and Reve De Sivola getting the ground he relishes it would be a little premature to think you were home and hosed. You too johnn, that's why I give so much stick to the paid "mouthpieces" that regularly spout their Master's written script on here in regard to the FOBT's, they don't want to take any bets, they've got a UK cash cow, that can be run by one person, in a booth in the corner, just like the "Change Here" booth in the old amusement arcades. Here in Eire, they have to take bets, if they wanna make money.
If the people on here that make regular posts, about being closed or restricted, spent that time writing to their local MP etc., to complain about FOBT's and related their a/c closure, a/c restriction or over the counter refusal story in their letters, it would be time better spent than moaning on here, in post after post, that only falls on deaf ears and unseeing eyes.

TheRobster, best of luck to you also, I didn't mean my post to imply that I was assuming that I was assured a certain return, nearly 40 yrs. backing has more than shown me that there is no such thing as a certainty, but it is a better bet for me due to the fact that I couldn't split them after much deliberation.

I would have no problem myself doing that either, although with such a greater outlay in respect of your potential winnings I would personally have backed them accordingly to win the same amount, technically giving you the same price for your cash.

well mr gandalph... on my way back from perth yesterday i was thinking about your good self and in particular the present crusade your having against the pink one ... i was simply wondering about your background ,where y were from etc etc . this gives me a slight insight into you and to be frank even more reinforces my respect for yourself and your work .I think you have i suspect chosen your name well and with a big degree of forethought.still the joys of Perth await ,,, its quite a decent day ... hope i can run down a few winners though on course its much harder i think than at home far too many distractions ,,, good luck with yr bet

Fantasist, I am all too aware as to how to dutch, my bets are real, my success is tangible, unlike yourself who has stated that he doesn't bet, now you run along and have a wash and shave, the mental health nurse will be along shortly, are they taking you to the park today or will it be the library?

yes, i will take a postion something similar to this. so good luck to us both.
only istabraq and sprinter sacre, have done what solwhit is attempting, so i will be favouring the mare

The ground will be in his favour unlike Cheltenham, he, like Quevega missed Aintree and looking at Sprinter Sacre's performance Tuesday it is tough to take in the three meetings. I see the danger to my selection being Quevega. The horse is following the usual Cheltenham, Punchestown route, she has won over course and distance on heavy, but I feel her best distance is 2.5 miles. Good luck with your bet though.

Yes Tai, I favour the mare as well and rather than wait till 5 mins before the race and then do a stupid win only bet on her and see her maybe get beat, I decided to try and get something from the race, plus the fact that come 5.30 I might have done my lot before the race and be fuming looking at one of them win and not be on. Good luck to you as well today.

Good to say that my revealing the truth about you has your already demented mind further driven to distraction fantasist, that you feel the need to attempt to destroy my thread.

Solwhit was a bad bet IMO and you should of saved your money but of course you don't believe in mathematics and prefer
the decadent art of writing in a game of numbers?
p.s. you could of layed solwhit had you used a better betting portal...

Solwhit the definite form pick. How good is Quevega? She won her benefit race at Cheltenham but was pretty much all out to beat an average field. The ground is probably against the front two.
Reve De Sivola is the obvious one to oppose them with but he was disappointing at Cheltenham and for me he isn't really progressive and for me not quite a Grade 1 horse.
I would sooner oppose the favourites with Holywell and Fiveforthree. Admitedly it was only a handicap but Holywell travelled like a dream at Cheltenham and then seemingly improved again at Aintree despite what I thought was a pretty ordinary McCoy ride. He should handle the ground better than most and hopefully reunited with McLernon he can find a few pounds further improvement. Obviously, it needs quite a leap of faith to see Fiveforthree winning at his age but he was top class, has been lightly raced, has plenty of heavy ground form and his reappearance was encouraging.
Having said all that I have got nothing right this week.

yes, differentdrum, and i fear your week is gonna continue in the same vain.
queveaga can only beat whats in front of her, and she came from a near impoosible position to win at chelts this year, you have to give her credit for that

You are probably right. I am hoping that Mad Brian has dug me out of hole by the time this race comes around. Ground much too quick last time, has form with two leading novices and and on that basis the market very much underestimates his chance.

Backed Reve De Sivola for a place this morning. Seeing the ground the way it is I'll probably back it for a win now as well and hope he turns it into a real slog.

Very poor betting judgement as you could of backed Quevaga on betfiar and layed your second selection
as like I said in the thread he had around a 1 in 6 chance and couldn't even make the frame.
oh well, clearly you are not professional but well done on scraping a profit....

You are some idiot, do you really think I'm going to listen to a lunatic, you can't make a profit from any of your threads and that's throwing two darts at each race, you threw two darts at a 4 horse race today and couldn't find the winner, you're minus 225 points in 4 weeks and that's throwing two darts in each race and your losses are mounting daily. You're seething. Now off you go and find tomorrows losers. That's the only thing that you are "professional" at.

Congratulations, I don't think anyone should lose track that for the majority the aim of betting is to make a profit. Does it really matter too much how that is achieved?
Mare much too good yesterday but I think in the end only two horses have performed. Wouldn't give up on Holywell. Did jump more fluently for McLernon but it was probably one race too many on ground that was softer than ideal.
Thankfully, Twinlight and Big Shu (that run in was a nightmare as he was massively the best horse in the race) dug me out yesterday and for a couple of seconds I had hopes of Captain Cutter rounding off a much better day.
Today looks very difficult and inclined to give it a swerve.
