Very fast filly, i think, beat Royal Ascot placed Chasing Moonbeams on debut?

I had a grand double on her and Triptych who was running on the Sunday in Ireland.  Tony Cruz was on board for the first time.  Came third.

I got 2s Gayanne, won by half the track.

Going back a long way, Chalon was an unbeaten filly by Habitat. Can't remember her best distance but I think it was 7 furlongs.

Remember he had a 7f filly called Kissing Cousin. It was about 3/1 in a four horse race after winning her maiden. Shot out the stalls and won Frankel style by a good fifteen lengths.

Pursuit Of Love should have won a July Cup but got a poor ride by Pat Eddery.

I remember Chalon very well sageform.  She was a very good filly at 7f/1 mile in 1982.  She won the Nell Gwynn Stakes but strangely missed the 1000 Guineas in favour of a handicap at Newmarket which she won in a course record time.  She won her first 6 races that season including the Coronation Stakes where she made all under Piggott.

Gayane was just touched off by Ajdal in a July Cup.

He tends to have the classics in mind for his best horses and might only get the odd sprinter from the classic generation that has failed to stay the mile at least.

Chalon was rather mature and a little bit backward and I thought she wouldn't be ready, so I ran her in a condition race at the same meeting instead.
Later in the season she went on to win the Coronation Stakes at Ascot, but I think she would definitely have won the Guineas at a canter."
