slow pace at the back at kempton must be one of the worst places to be on a race course when they quicken

that horse needs marking up had a real burst of speed there from an unpromising position

The horse has a good turn of foot, and today's slowly run race suited it.I'd added the horse to my watchlist because of how well he quickened over a slow run 10 furlongs at Kempton last time. I didn't back today because I doubted that a step up in trip was what he needed and I maintain that, had today's pace been stronger, it wouldn't have won.

i see what you mean thunder you think  this trip would stretch it off a truly run pace.

i suppose we'll have to see on that score

whatever the case you wont see many horses at this track make up ground like that from the back off a slow run race

Exactly. I was expecting more of a gallop and I was far from certain that it would stay up in trip at a fast pace. I hope they drop it back down to 10 furlongs or find it a race with a smaller field and a slow pace where it can do them for sheer acceleration.
