Does anybody know why Hamdam al Maktoum has removed nearly all his horses from him and placed most with John Hills? I know Richard works for Hamdam but I think Tregonning one of the best around.

I would imagine its because of Makfi who won the 2000 Guineas in 2010 for Mikel Delzangles who bought it at the sales as an unraced cast off of Maktoum ..Marcus trained it as a 2yo and told him it was no good sold at the end of its 2yo season unraced and won the 2000 6months later

Barry Hills has come out of retirement at the age of 76 to team up with son John to train 14 of Sheikh Hamdan's horses at Lambourn's Kingswood House stables, which has been without a trainer since Marcus Tregoning moved to Whitsbury this year. Hamdan was keen to keep some horses at Kingswood House rather than relocate them to other trainers. The new operation does not impinge on the arrangement Sheikh Hamdan has with Tregoning who will continue to train for him, as will Charlie Hills, who is one of the trainers who has received horses formerly in the care of the now-retired John Dunlop. |

they bought back the horse for stud duties and i would imagine its cost a lot more than 30k

Looks like jobs for the boys if John and Charlie seem to be getting them,If he was keen to keep horses at Kingwood stables why put it up for sale.

I didn't realise the stables were put up for sale and does Hamdan own the land or just Farncombe Down gallops?
