There's a few bearded lady trainers out there , that's for sure
delta was it you who recommended Ian Garbutt to me for the Cesarewitch (in which we were balloted out), if so thanks and that's how he ended up on Zarosa. Thought he rode another polished race.
No bearded jocks for obvious reasons :

HV, my Cesarewitch recommendation to you for the filly was for Noel Garbutt, dont know why they used Ian today......
Can't think of any others who are still alive - even within the last 35 yrs only Captain Jimmy Wilson, and maybe the Beverley trainer Alf Smith ???? Also trying to recall what York trainer Joe Mulhall looked like.

Zarosa kicked off the Flat turf season for this stable in great style when winning by a length and a quarter at Newcastle over 12 furlongs in the hands of Noel Garbutt.
The pair picked up where they left off last October, when Noel guided Zarosa to her first victory, that time over two miles in much softer conditions than she faced on Monday.
It was a great shame that her owner Roger Vicarage couldn't be there to witness her second victory, but happily Roger's daughter Zoe, who is at university in Newcastle, was able to represent him and we saw plenty of Zoe's smiling face as the filly was led back in by an equally beaming Terri, who rides and looks after Zarosa and completely adores her.
With the departure of Hannah last year we no longer have a stable apprentice. Noel is attached to Hugo Palmer's stable and is now two wins for two rides on Zarosa with a polished effort each time he has ridden her. Here's to plenty more success for both horse and jockey this season.
Zarosa is seen here (left) enjoying a gallop with Terri on the Al Bahathri on Saturday alongside Grand Liaison and John.
Our next runner will be Ethics Girl at Newbury on Saturday providing the ground is no softer than good.
