Sir Peter O'Sullevan suffers mild stroke
By Graham Green 2:41PM 26 MAR 2013 racingpost.com SIR PETER O'SULLEVAN is in Charing Cross Hospital in London after suffering what friends describe as "a mild stroke" at home on Sunday night. The former 'Voice of British Racing', now aged 95, has blurred vision and was on Tuesday undergoing a series of tests that will continue on Wednesday. Nigel Payne, who runs O'Sullevan's charitable trust, said: "Sir Peter is obviously a bit down, but he is in very good hands and everything is being done for him. I don't think it is over-serious, but at the same time when anybody of that age has a stroke it has to be a concern." More to follow . . |

A shame, I wish him well, not much levity to be had from a very old man having strokes, I can assure you.

True, but there it's sad that we put horses out of their suffering for breaking a leg, yet old people are kept alive no matter how poor their quality of life.

Think peter had a bit of a health scare when he drove to paris last october for the arc,hope he can pull through one of the legends of racing makes these ch4 atr commentators look feckin idiots.Get well soon sir peter!!

Peter has been in robust health for his years , he had a driving holiday in France a couple of years ago . I can't imagine being able to drive to the shops at 92/93 years of age ,never mind touring about a country like France with its difference in driving laws/customs etc . Get well soon is my heartfelt message .

what a wonderful commentator, absolutely head and shoulders above everyone in racing, in my lifetime ive been blessed by the greats bill mclaren, dan maskell, whispering ted , but sir peter was the master, really brilliant to listen to, he really made tv horse racing for me,
