Looked more like a horse that could barely put one leg in front of the other to me, struggling right from the off.

Mistake at the first probably caused by pace pressure from McCoy. How he pushed the horse into that fence I don't know.

Folks,

In the past I have had horses with James Ewart very good trainer only problem with James he is firmly a believer in the mushroom theory of keeping owners informed "keep them in the dark and feed them sh...e.

My point on Zaru is as a young horse this fellow was discovered with what I believe is the equine version of "atrial fibrillation" ie irregular heartbeat, I suspect that this is what has happened today. What I would say is that no way on earth whould James run this fella if he was'nt satisfied on his wellbeing

The Veterinary Officer reported that ZARU, which fell, trained by James Ewart, had bled from the nose.

Unusual for a horse to bleed so early in a race.
