If things are heading that way I'd rather have Ruby on a 10 year old who has already won considerably more than a million.

Barry and the Shark could take turns riding him in his races.

Champion Hurdle favourite Our Conor has been bought by leading owner Barry Connell in the wake of his ultra-impressive Triumph Hurdle win last week for the Man About Town syndicate

Barry Connell, on buying Champion Hurdle favourite Our Conor. "I'm delighted to have the opportunity to buy him because I was so impressed with what he did in the Triumph."

Shame really, O connell must be on one big ego trip, I suppose they couldn't refuse £1 million
for a jumper, I thing they only paid £4500.00 for him.

Rather O'Connell bought him than McManus.

Jokes aside.....

Fair play to O'Connell. I mean he's got the money and wants a top class horse so why not. The syndicate holders have been handsomely rewarded.

I do however slightly doubt about the horse being able to recoup the money via Race Winnings. When you consider that Dessie will target the Champion Hurdle and the Champion Hurdle alone ie brining Our Conor very steadily along until he's cherry ripe for March them I'm not sure the horse will be able to pick up winnings race after race like Hurricane Fly has done. Also you have the Mullin's factor to contend with so I'd say €1m / £1m would be fairly unlikely.

Its also for that reason why the current price is a bit daft. He'll be bigger after Hurricane Fly spanks him in the Morgiana, beats him a length over Christmas at Leopardstown and then a short head in the Irish Champion (you see where I'm going with that one!!)

Good luck to Danny M next season....Hopefully riding Our Conor will get him more rides and more experience as he'll need all of it to solve the tacticle puzzle that next year's Champion Hurdle is shaping up to be. Sure Our Conor seems a fairly simple ride but I've other fairly simple rides completely fail at the Festival....AP on MTOY vs the front running Champagne Fever? (just an example of a simple riding style failing...dont want to get into a whole MTOY up the hill debate).

Won't have to worry Our Conor will be so far superior the horse will virtually carry him home as he did Cooper.
