phone bets are verbal contracts, as are any amendments you make over the counter at the time of wager without
a new slip being issued with the changes to bet instructions not amended. When it comes to the time when a bookmaker has to honor any business made as a verbal contract they can claim that no proof of such contract details exists. I know this because I made a verbal amendment with them once, they even confirmed it several times after bet placement but they settled the bet the way that cost them the least and there was nothing I could do about it. |

This is why most bookmakers such at Internet betting as they cant stand looking at a balance in profit
or an accounting system that they cant string along and its all down to most high street firms evolving from the days of illegal betting and bookie runners, when a bookie would hawk a street corner and take your bets and run like hell when the law blew his whistle and not many people know or remember all this but its all facts... |

the reality of why general bookmaking will eventually die out and be replaced with fairer and better
gambling products is because they only product they sell is the act of gabling at a loss. When a wholesaler sells a product to a retailer they both know they will get a profit and this is paid by the end user, but when a bookmaker sells a stake in an outcome he doesn't want the end user to keep making a profit but to buy the the product of losing with the only return for the end user being adrenalin risk kicks, facts... exchange betting works because both the users and the exchange operator can make profits as profits are set to turn over and not at selling the act of gambling. FOBT business is in my mind the worst example of this tpye of pure gambling product ever created... |

The government would do something about addressing fairer gambling if it where not itself
in the practice of putting money first before people as all they want is your vote and if they do get it all wrong they can just hang around for another 5 years until another party is thrown out and get back in again to pay for there own needs and maintain there rotten out-dated far left or far right ideologies. |
