Labour MP John Mann, a member of the Treasury Select Committee, described it as an “insult”.
He added: “It shows how out of touch these bankers are.” I'm not sure who the biggest c*nt is - John Mann or David Williams. |

Rich Ricci is a scumbag of a human being and hopefully he has a dire Cheltenham but the worst bit about that horrendous non event of an article was the desperate rent a quote David Williams.

It shows that Rich Ricci has a sense of humour and self deprecating humour at that.
It also shows that Labour are a crowd of humourless robots who would do anything to get their filthy Germans on power, this is the party that wrecked your once grat country for the sole reason of getting new voters an act of treason from Blair and Browne that unfortunately will go unpunished. |

I hate the banks and their obscene bonuses but as London is the financial centre of Europe a certain amount of realpolitic must kick in.
Europe has never been fair to Britain and they have robbed ye for years, they would love to make Frankfurt the financial centre of Europe,if that were to happen it would be a disaster for Britain.Tradition does still stand for something and London despite being a foreign city is still the real financial capital of the world but for how long. |

London is a foreign city in that it has been taken over by Asians and the English have been forced out.

Barclays has been taken over by white Americans. and the new Bank of England Governor is a Canadian. Our politicians are bad enough but to have a man from the land of Charles Haughey and Bertie Aherne telling us how to run things is a bit rich ( so to speak )

How did ye let it happen and don't forget the Bulgarians and Romanians can all come next January, have no doubt they will all head for London as ye are a soft touch ye give the new arrivals far more than ye give your own.
When will you take your country back, what was once the greatest empire in the world is now being wiped out by stealth. |

Someone might want to point out to all those that are "outraged" by this choice of name that Ricci named the horse Fatcatinthehat after this headline:
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/analysis-and-features/whos-the-fat-cat-in-the-hat-the-rich-world-of-rich-ricci-2265436.html It is him poking fun at himself. Loosen up, chaps. |

At least he got The Cheltenham Festival into The New York Times
A Barclays Banker Bets on a ‘Fat Cat’ By MARK SCOTT http://dealbook.nytimes.com President Obama irked Wall Street bankers a few years ago by calling them “fat cats.” But one banker has embraced the name. This week, Rich Ricci, the head of Barclays investment banking unit, is entering several horses in the Cheltenham Festival, including “Fat Cat in the Hat.” At 10-to-1 odds, Fat Cat in the Hat is one of the favorites at the four-day racehorse event in central England that attracts the country’s high society. If the four-year-old horse wins, Mr. Ricci could take home more than $100,000 in prize money. The race — and Mr. Ricci’s horse — is stoking the long-simmering controversy surrounding the bank. Some lawmakers said it illustrated the gap between high-paid bankers and the wider public that continues to suffer from slow economic growth in Britain. “It shows how out of touch these bankers are,” the British politician John Mann told a local newspaper. Last summer, the bank agreed to pay $450 million to American and British authorities over a rate-rigging scandal. Mr. Ricci’s name surfaced in a relation to the inquiry in which some of the firm’s senior managers altered Barclays’ submissions to the London interbank offered rate, or Libor. The efforts were an effort to mask the bank’s financial position at the height of the financial crisis. Mr. Ricci was not accused of any wrongdoing. Barclays also came under fire last week after it announced that 428 of its employees earned more than $1.5 million last year. Five of the bank’s staff members were paid more than $7.5 million in 2012. The compensation package of the American-born Mr. Ricci was not revealed as part of the bank’s annual disclosures. His hobbies aren’t nearly as rewarding, at least financially speaking. Last year, a horse owned by the Barclays banker called Champagne Fever took home the first prize at one of the event’s most prominent races that had a total purse of more than $80,000. |

What a crazy fukked up world we live in...normal people lauding a mega-rich American millionaire who has nowt in common with any of them and would be happy to shaft ordinary people, the British taxman or the UK economy if it means he gets his bonus of more money than any of us could possibly earn in a 100 lifetimes.
Meanwhile immigrants coming to Britain just to make a better life working for minimum wages or less, shovelling ****, get accused of taking over the country... You couldn´t make it up. |

the reason this utter cockwobble and the rest of his ilk get away with it is that he great british public let him. Through apathy and ignorance they do feck all to change the scenario.
You want to stop him and his colleagues heres what you do: move yer bank accounts, there are many options these days starting with building societies. Anyone that has a pension scheme can simply get on the phone and tell the pensions company to move any part of YOUR investment out of banks. |Stop moaning and demanding things be done most of us sit on our arses watching these feckers rip us off. The reason these feckers get away with it and that "share holders" dont do anything is because is the fecking CEO of yer average top pension company and the ceo of yer average top bank either went to the same school or university or worked along side each other on their way to the top and usually they sit on each others board. This is not a problem for Europe to decide that is borderline fascism how long before "europe" is setting the macimum rate a plumber can charge or a taxi? This is a problem of apathy and ignorance, if it pisses you off pick yer fecking phone up. Bonfire of the vanitites was written 23 years ago but nowt has changed the ignorant twats are still using our money to live fat due to ignorance of the public and all round laziness. what you all have to realise is that that quid in yer pocket is a lot more powerful than that vote they give you every 5 years so fecking use it....be careful where you spend it and you can collectively bring these w@nkers to their knees. |

Cheltenham Festival 2013: Rich Ricci misses Champagne Fever's big moment as Ruby Walsh produces perfect ride
_ National Hunt racing is a broad church and accepts rich and poor on equal terms. So the only disappointment among the rank and file at Cheltenham on Tuesday when Rich Ricci, the flamboyant multimillionaire Barclays executive, won the William Hill Supreme Novice Hurdle with Champagne Fever was that the owner was not present to witness his big moment. By Marcus Armytage telegraph.co.uk Ricci, the chief executive of Corporate and Investment Banking at Barclays who made his name and his fortune as Bob Diamond’s side-kick in the pre-recession era of huge bonuses and oversaw the ‘deal of the century’ to buy Lehman Brothers, was called away on business at the 11th hour. It meant he was unable to see an inch-perfect ride from Ruby Walsh on the Willie Mullins-trained Champagne Fever to make every yard of the running in the weather-delayed opener and withhold the late and sustained challenge of AP McCoy on the well-backed 15-8 favourite My Tent Or Yours by half a length. It is very possible that Ricci, whose fortune has been described as well in excess of £50million and who will have seven or eight runners this week, will see his wife’s green spotted pink colours back into the winner’s enclosure on Wednesday in the Neptune Investment Management Novice Hurdle – albeit from a television in the boardroom. The American, originally from Nebraska, owns the red-hot favourite Pont Alexandre but it is another of his horses, the provocatively named Fatcatinthehat, a runner in the Fred Winter Juvenile Hurdle, which seems to have raised hackles in certain circles where people who made money out of the crash rather than sank with it are still vilified. On his regular visits to Ireland on Sundays in the winter Ricci is usually to be seen in a tweed suit, dark glasses and trilby, a caricature of a fat cat. The man with the fantastically apt name has owned horses for seven years and is now among the leading jump owners in Ireland along with the long established JP McManus and Michael O’Leary, chief executive of Ryanair. |

Ha ha! Typical Telegraph trying to be clever "...Ricci, whose fortune has been described as well in excess of £50million..." playing down his outrageous wealth. Yesterday " the man with the fantastically apt name" (pass the fukkin sick bag) was described as having a fortune in excess of 100 million. Considering he reportedly got a 44 million quid BONUS in 2010 for one year´s work I should think his wealth is far in excess of what the Torygraph is trying to have us believe.
