Get the adrenalin pumping through your veins for the Festival, if it isn't already, by answering these teasers

1) Both human and equine versions were successful at the Festival albeit in different years, name me?

2) This horse ran at 9 Festivals in a row and in the same race for 8 consecutive years, was also ridden by 6 different jockeys, name horse and the jockeys?

3) Who finished 2nd to this horse, then the following year got the leg up to win the very same race?

4) Who trained the beaten favourite of a Triumph Hurdle and 3 decades later tasted Classic success in England & Ireland?

5) In which race was the 2nd disqualified in consecutive years, name race and horses?

6) A Welsh international footballer and a multiple 1980's Cheltenham winning jockey share the same name, what is it?

7) I had an English Classic victory as a trainer and rode a Cheltenham winner, who am I?

8) In all the races run in the last 50 years, what has happened on only one occasion at the Festival ?

9) This list relates to something at the March Festival, what does it reflect and what is the connection?

Francome            0 from 8
Kellaway            0 from 1
Linley            0 from 3
Pitman          0 from 5
Sherwood        0 from 1

10) Which fondly remembered superstar of the turf made their final appearance at the Festival in 1971, beaten 7l into 3rd place?

11) I first appeared at the Festival in the mid sixties but only managed a couple of placings, though I was victorious over three decades later, who am I?

12) What has happened on 22 occasions in the last 50 years of the festival?

Given the extensive knowledge of many on here and the availability of the internet, I have tried to keep the detail as vague as possible in the hope they are not all solved within 10 minutes, best of luck

8- Each race won by different jockey?
Report Cork Langer March 10, 2013 10:28 PM GMT
Right a few clues

1) Both human and equine versions were successful at the Festival albeit in different years, name me?

2m over fences was optimum distance for horse that gave jockey his biggest victory.

2) This horse ran at 9 Festivals in a row and in the same race for 8 consecutive years, was also ridden by 6 different jockeys, name horse and the jockeys?

This is something Kate Middleton might be said to give the Prince on occasion.

3) Who finished 2nd to this horse then the following year got the leg up to win the same race?

This jockey was undoubtedly Welsh.

4) Who trained the beaten favourite of a Triumph Hurdle and 3 decades later tasted Classic success in England & Ireland?

This person is currently in disgrace.

8) In all the races run in the last 50 years, what has happened on only one occasion at the Festival ?

Think odds.

11) I first appeared at the Festival in the mid sixties but only managed a couple of placings, though I was victorious over three decades later, who am I?

Regal sounding and perhaps a bit of a trick question

12) What has happened on 22 occasions in the last 50 years of the festival?

Happened a lot in the 80's and in the last 12 years but only once in the 60's and once in the 70's.
