Bruce will say the increase is just the price of a packet of pork scratchings.
I stopped buying the Post after Bruce's appearance on the Morning Line where he compared the cost of the paper to a half a lager. The cost wasn't the issue for me, the Post had become a bookmakers rag in my opinion. |

Strange how the price goes up on cheltenham week
![]() |
By:
Every Cheltenham without fail. Only read it in the Bookies these days it's free.
I will not be bothering next week either which will be a first in about 20 years. |
By:
Same as, only buy it when going racing. Now its easier to download the free timeform racecard.

In life you have to make a stand, against thing that are wrong,
THE POST IS FOR PEOPLE THAT ARE EASERLY MUGGED OFF. |
By:
since the early nineties I bought one every day until about 7 years ago....now i just get one on a Saturday.....they are cutting their own throat and hopefully will bleed out.
needs a decent opponent to get a price war going like we had when SL v RP....but Racing Today doesn't match that criteria even thought all it'a efforts are focussed on just one day of the week! and the last one that tried (forgotten name it was so poor!) didn't last long. Having said all this, the basic online RP for 130.00/year is very good for me as all I want are the cards and form plus full form cards for Sunderland/Newcastle dogs for RPtv |
By:
Why bother, sporting life offers the same, and sometimes more. And its free.
By:
basically I find the form easier to read and better set out on RP than SL or ATR but agreed, you don't really need to pay for form at all nowadays if you don't want to

The betting can`t be going well if people worry about such tiny amounts.
By:
£2.80 UP 60P AFTER TODAY I WONT BE BUYING ITS JUST NOT WORTH IT
By:
Lazarus your betting can't be going all that well when you have to rely on a well known tipster to pick a winner for you?.
By:
^ a highly successful one = moronic remark ^
By:
I'm not knocking the guy but I do like to form my own opinion rather than let others do it for me, nothing moronic about that.
By:
norn iron,
You're right, it wasn't worth £2 never mind £2.80. Everything you need to make your selections can be found online. I don't follow tipsters so no reason to buy the paper. Trainers comments - , Bookie prices advertised - ![]() |
By:
Anyone that gives any of their money to this horrible publication is really not that bright, imo...
By:
£2.80!
They'd have to throw a bird in, for that price? ![]() |

It`s great having lots of money and not needing to worry about such petty matters.
By:
For the benefit of lazarus.
5x£1.80=£9 2x£2.20=£4.40 ------ £13.40/week x50 allowing for holidays,xmas,good friday etc. ----------- ££670 -------- and that is before the proposed price increase.That isn't a trivial amount,no matter how good your circumstances are. |
By:
As for people's betting not going very well mfordy........
about 3 years ago,you were on here begging Lampus to post the Pricewise extra tip,3 days running. To save the £1-50 cost of the phone call. This was at the same time as you were claiming you had a team of placers putting your bets on for you.I guess they just had to wait outside the shops until Lampus gave you the tip for free!!!!!!!!! The forums very own village idiot. |
By:
lazarus2,
I've come to the conclusion that you must enjoy being abused, making statements like 'It's great having lots of money' leaves you open to verbal abuse on here. That is the sort of comment children make in the school yard. I thought you called a truce with your detractors last year ? |
By:
Check the new breast implants mfooly, you are leaking poison all over the thread.
By:
Lazarus you really are a despicable person and you receive the contempt that you so justifiably deserve from the majority of people on this forum.

agree sky subscription going soon and racing uk too. not happy about their 12 month contract....i dobt watch jump racing so its a complete waste of money. that money can be of help to the economy if i spend it elsewhere |

Just paid the 20
for RUKbut it's coming off on the 8th ![]() |

By:
I buy it. Wouldn't like to have to justify that statement though.
Just 2 of a host of glaring stupidities Bruce - sporadic stapling is a ridiculous encumbrance. WOW ( why oh why ) Eg 'the RI nugget' put any content in such a small typeface on such a silly indistinct grey background for a readership who often already have eyesight issues? Lamps if that's todays'- 1201 post, who selected it please? |
By:
I haven't bought the RP for a couple of years now, except the odd day out at Ascot ... I made the connection between non profiting days from punting and purchasing a Racing Post so I knocked buying it on the head plus I'd rather put the money towards Raceform Interactive subscription. Weekender suffered the same fate when I realised I was only buying it for the Nick Mordin column. Oh for the days of 'Odds On' magazine in the 90's, the best punting publication I've come across.

Let me get this right, it's going up from £2.20 to £2.80, can anybody confirm this ?
How much is it going upto from Sunday to Friday ? |
By:
13:02 sorry, should have said tia.
By:
Surely it's not going up that much ?
Unbelievable if that is the case. |
By:
Sounds like the ones bought in Ireland
maybe wrong thou |
By:
Hate the layout of the RP,it needs to be completely revamped.
Get rid of most of the tipsters and reduce the price. |
By:
Just listen to these losers. Hilarious.
By:
i used to buy it every day but as the years pass by i buy it less and less. saturday would be the only day i religiously buy it.like people are saying everything is on the computer.
