Cheltenham is just around the corner and with this in mind, we’re committed to doing what we do best at William Hill… Bringing you great prices on the horses you want to back! Every day this week, we’ll be pushing out the price on a high profile horse, so make sure you pay us a visit every morning!
Our first price is being released at 9am tomorrow. We’ll be going…
3/1 on Hurricane Fly for the Champion Hurdle!
Don’t forget, we’re non-runner, money back for this offer too. If Hurricane Fly doesn’t run as expected, you’ll get your money back.
"If Hurricane Fly doesn’t run as expected, you’ll get your money back".
he is expected to win, does that mean we get our 10 quid back if he comes second?

Priority prices, or whatever bo**ocks they advertise............in the words of Barney.........they'll not lay you a banana.
Hills are now a complete joke of an outfit.Priority prices, or whatever bo**ocks they advertise............in the words of Barney.........they'll not lay you a banana.
considering the current climate i'm sure if it is fifty many will take them up on the offer.
it looks like its going to be one a day till the festival starts.
how much would you expect them to lay at 3/1?considering the current climate i'm sure if it is fifty many will take them up on the offer. it looks like its going to be one a day till the festival starts.
Correct Fawwon, all the Gravy Train Season Ticket Holders, plus the once a year mob will be out in force spouting out about laying mythical figures on unobtainable prices. We'll be lucky if we see a horse all week on ATR.

Good offer but how much will they let you have on? Last offer was £20 max I asked few old timers in shop to put bet on for me got £100 on but lass said knew what was happening.Could run round few shops if close , worth it as can lay off on here for def profit.

Belfast - its a good bet. Don't be put off. The offer wasn't made in light of any "inside info". It's would be a directors' decision, that Hills traders have to abide by.

I'm not exactly Harry Findlay, but can you honestly be arsed running round five shops for an arb that'll net about 8 quid, less commission?
It's a good offer if you like the horse.

Hills are trying to get it, PP are trying to get it, and the on course boys haven't even started yet.
Depends a bit on whether the rain arrives or not, but I don't know anyone who thinks it's value below 3/1.
I agree with you, Mukdahan. The horse could easily be 3/1 on the day.Hills are trying to get it, PP are trying to get it, and the on course boys haven't even started yet.Depends a bit on whether the rain arrives or not, but I don't know anyone who thi
It wd be fair play if they actually stood for price for a reasonable amount.
If any losers read the thread, never turn yr nose up at a 5 quid arb. It seems pitiful and you may have the sense you need to win more to get out of a hole.
In fact the way to win is to accumulate small advantages.

Im no fan of Hills but some of the carp on here beggars belief. Anyone expecting them to lay bundles on these offers hasnt got a clue. 50 quid more than fair.

This was a reasonable offer and no more than that aimed at the smaller staking customer - which is what the company seems to be happy in accomodating these days. The days when you could get a decent bet on with Hill's has long since gone - no doubt we will get the usual P.R rubbish next week from Kate that the firm have layed xxx on such & such and YYY is a six figure liabilty - don't waste your breath Kate nobody believes you.
This morning at 9.00am when they went 3/1 Hurricane Fly - a NON PTL ( permission to Lay ) customer could get a Max of £50 @3/1 and the option of up to a further £500 @9/4 ; A PTL customer ( all bets referred prior to acceptance ) could get a MAX of £20 @3/1 with the option of a further £200 @9/4 . THis all changed at 11.00am when the MAX stake was dropped to £20 @3/1 for Non PTL and just £10 for PTL customers. I understand that the odds went 2/1 for phone and Net customers at 11.00am.
Up until 11.00am the odds on Betfair were around 3.70 - this has now shortened in to around 3.45 ; so even if the Arbing dole'ite plebs managed to get their 50 quid on they would probably only make enough to buy themselves a pouch of tobacco to make their roll up cigs should the horse win.
I have spoken to a number of the staff today and they have embarassingly had to turn plenty of customers away - as they apparently get a disciplinary warning if caught taking more than one fifty from each customer.
From my own point of view I think the race is too hard to call and full of iffs & buts and will simply sit back and enjoy the race.
No doubt we will be having a thread a day to discuss Hill's other offers on the lead up to the festival - I won't even bother wasting my time & effort walking the quarter of a mile to my nearest shop ( should I actually fancy any of the enhanced odds ) to be basically told to eff orf.

Interesting that they are still top price, even after standing it all morning at 3's.
They clearly don't fancy the horse.
maybe they know something we dont

As already mentioned earlier by a few people, it is a good price for the average punter like myself, who doesn't want to bet in the hundreds or thousands but are quite happy to stick £20 on it.

Got a score at 3/1 in a couple of Hills shops in Taunton, along with £100 and &50 Noble Legend at 5/2 in the 2.30 at Southwell.
Wish I was so flush I could consider the chance to get 40 quid on the Fly at 3s as beneath my contempt.

They can't take on everybody. Why not dash along to Lads and avail yourself of their 5/4?

Kept the 100 quid bet on Noble Legend at 5/2, but bottled it and laid off the 50 quid bet at Betfair SP when it kept on shortening.
Never get it completely right, do I?
