I stood down by the last fence at Kelso to watch this. The leaps that Garleton put in second time round and at the last had to be seen to be believed. I'm sure Harry Topper was distracted by seeing Garleton's leap when he hit the fence and unseated at the ninth. A stirring battle up the run in with gallant Garleton being done close home by another of my favourites in Always Right.

All that makes jump racing such a stirring spectacle.
