as long as there aren't any rules that jockeys have to ride out at any stage in the race 9which would give distance betting more integrity as well) these comedians will always cost the punters money....In my book 1 year world wiide ban.....(not going to happen , but that is my opinion)...btw...i din't back either horse, mind you....

Should be top up bans for this offence,world wide, first ban 1 month, 2nd time 1 month x 2,2 months x 3, 3 months x 4 etc, etc.

No excuse for not pushing a horse all the way to the line.

If a jockey loses a race in this way first time 1 month, second time 3 months an if caught for a third timeunable to ever ride again in the UK.This is not a simple error the jockey decided to ease the horse down and it is deliberate cheating.Even if the jockey wins the race a note should be made aware of the result if he loses a future race. He has done this befre but has been "lucky"

It's hard enough to get a winner and looked like money down big time owners must be seething! Why don't they have a rule that you must ride out all the way until you are 5yds past the winning line, maybe a second marker post just after the winning post that you must keep your horse up to!

45.1.2 take and be seen to take all other reasonable and permissible measures throughout the race, however it develops, to ensure the horse is given a full opportunity to achieve the best possible placing.

The Stewards held an enquiry to consider why David Probert, the rider of PAPHOS, placed second, had appeared to stop riding shortly before the winning post. Having heard his evidence and viewed recordings of the race they found him in breach of Rule (B)59.3.2.1 and guilty of failing to ride out on a horse that would have finished first. They suspended him for 28 days as follows: 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 30, 31 March 2013, and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 April 2013.
