Marketing ploy ?

Excuse to put membership up ?

I remember a couple of years ago when I joined, and the picture quality was spot on. It then deteriorated badly, and their customer service people could never explain why.

Not one to trust implicitly.

Report WFT February 19, 2013 1:24 PM GMT
If you're talking about on-line, could your broadband supplier not be the difference in speed of pictures ?
Report DOUBLED February 19, 2013 1:53 PM GMT

Report starfish and coffee February 19, 2013 1:59 PM GMT

Hopefully faster next race or that is a 15 quid donation to Rishi's wages.

It will depend where you are sat and who is your ISP. From RUK it won't be routed the same way to everybody, some paths will have more stages in them and one slightly slow one could make the difference.

When it's finished, if you want to do another just press the up arrow key and press enter, to save typing the address again.

Report rcing February 19, 2013 5:37 PM GMT
how do we interpret the results rollo ?
Report Rollo Tomasi February 19, 2013 5:40 PM GMT
rcing,
Each hop is in milliseconds. The less hops you have and the faster your slowest hop, then the faster your connection to the destination site. What you don't want is one hop or more that takes ages and slows you down.
Report rcing February 19, 2013 5:46 PM GMT
thanks rollo

Report aspy65 February 20, 2013 2:29 PM GMT

Report DOUBLED February 20, 2013 2:31 PM GMT
aspy - where abouts in North East as that contradicts all other people I have spoken to in North East ?
Report starfish and coffee February 20, 2013 2:50 PM GMT
Doubled what do the people you have spoken to say ?
Report starfish and coffee February 20, 2013 2:53 PM GMT
FWIW I purchased it yesterday and could barely get it ahead of ruk sky. In the odd time it might have been ahead it was under half a second and possibly not worth the hassle of constant refreshes to get a smidgeon ahead and have a worse picture. That said the picture quality is decent.
Report DOUBLED February 20, 2013 3:02 PM GMT
most say level with Sky RUK or a fraction behind

from thornaby... and use 50 meg line...   the picture speed same as turf like i said.  picture can jump a little but would rather pay £150 per annum than the 8k or so per annum for turf tv   will keep checking over the coming weeks and update !

Report dustybin February 21, 2013 3:33 PM GMT
Its about half a second quicker than RUK here after 14 hops, it never falls behind RUK but the picture is a little jerky.
Im using it for the sound atm but wont continue with it after month is up.
Report rcing February 21, 2013 3:54 PM GMT
same here dusty .
picture is jerky which puts me off , but about 0.5 ahead of ruk on sky .

is it jerky for everyone that uses it ?
Report dustybin February 21, 2013 4:18 PM GMT
I know what you mean about the jerkiness putting you off rcing.
although its not falling behind, the slight pauses in the picture isnt ideal

Im just wondering whether half a second for sound is worth 15 quid a month ???
Report rcing February 21, 2013 4:23 PM GMT
if sound is helpful to you go for it . i would pay the £15 a month for a 0.5 quicker pics , but the jerkyness is more off putting than the advantage gained . that's just for me . others may might be able to put up with it though .

Report racingstar February 21, 2013 10:28 PM GMT
Despite claims on here,Turf TV is still ahead of RUK Online.
RUK is 0.5 seconds ahead of RUK TV (depending on your BB speed).
Report DOUBLED February 22, 2013 8:28 AM GMT
If RUK online is the 0.5 seconds ahead of RUK TV then it is level with Turf TV Confused
