Seems to be coming a cropper at the last hurdle, when in with a winning chance, all too often these days. Same sort of fall as well, horses over pitching after the obstacle.
He must change something he does from what he does normally throughout the rest of the race.
Whatever, like a golfer sometimes needs to change his swing, Ruby needs to look at changing something he does when putting hurdlers under pressure at the end of a race imo.
Well said mick - I think he just goes for it no matter how far the horse is from the fence or hurdle. It probably feels brave but it's pretty stupid too.

Throwing fairly inexperienced horses at the last as you can't afford to lose ground getting in tight. Maybe he should make his challenge a little earlier on the lightly raced types.

He seems to me to 'go long'only at the last, so the horse hurdles proficiently then is asked to do something different at the last hurdle. Is he confusing the horse when the fastest part of the race is reached? It's odd, but it has happened too often this season for it to be a coincidence.
