It returns to Bangor where it ran in Novice & Handicap & Hunter chases, & seems to love Bangor..4 wins from 5 runs..PU in the other….. All ground seems to come alike. The jock/owner.. Nick Wakefield is a builder & has only been riding for around 3yrs, but have no complaints on that score, he rides the horse very well. THAT´S RHYTHM is a stand out on form, it finished 2nd to Salsify in its last Hunter chase, decent horse finishing behind it ... nothing here can match form! It can race up with the pace, which is an advantage around here especially as the trip is on the short side & for a horse that stays farther than 3m, it doesn’t lack pace. Last time out in a P2P at Ampton, it was upsides the winner when it unseated after the fence in a good field, probably better than here….it really is a good jumper. It is rated 6LB superior to MARKY BOB….. they are set to run off levels, but with Nick Wakefields 7LB claim, it is in theory 13LB “well in”….
MARKY BOB
A horse I like a lot & an habitual front runner….. if something is front of this one, then it will be going too quick…… its trademark is to lead & run them into the ground……usually clear at half way. This 20f trip is perfect for it, as is the track…. But THAT´S RHYTHM should have too much class for it. It was beaten a distance last time out in a P2P over 3m, led & faded….maybe it needed the run, but it looked to bad to be true. It has won a point in soft ground, but the majority of its racing has been on a quickish surface….its jumping can also be a bit hairy at times……Phil York takes the ride.
4 March 2012 AT TWESELDOWN:- “Seems the bookies caught a cold in more than one way at wintery Tweseldown yesterday. MARKY BOB, all-the-way winner of the Men's Open with Gordon Gallagher on board, is said to have cost them many thousands of pounds when backed from 10-1 to 2-1 before the off. Trained in the West Country by Hugo Froud and owned by a syndicate, the horse had a zero rating in the racecard, which said "Impressive hurdle winner 2010; ran out at second on point-to-point debut; best watched".
ROCKLANDSLAD
Been running in Ladies Opens off 11st & winning well…… but it needs flat left handed tracks & quick ground…it will not be getting that here! Even though it has won its last 3….. the form is nowhere near that of THAT´S RHYTHM 7 I think it will struggle here on the ground,.
NOBLE BEN
Been off the course for nearly 2yrs, but has been a prolific P2P winner over the years. Won a average Hunter Chase when last seen, but the time before that, it ran 2nd to. CREEVYTENNANT.. ( APRIL 2011) that horse has really decent form , winning a Hunter Chase the other day. NOBLE BEN though seems to be another one who needs it quick & not having had a recent run will be a big disadvantage against the likes of THAT’S RHYTHN & MARKY BOB.
BALLYEIGHTRA CROSS
Another horse that needs good ground to show its best, been off the course for over a year after finishing 2nd to DIVINE INTAVENTION after making a bad mistake in a Mens Open, connections were very disappointed with that run, but the horse had bled & has been off the course since then. This trip will be on the short side & could well be outpaced & probably needing the run.. Time form have it as “runner up between the flags last month”…don’t know where they have got that from.
THAT´S RHYTHM , best form by a mile & bound to have come on for the P2P run…….. gets the weight from MARKY BOB & has to be the bet here for me,
Marky bob dived horribly left at cottenham, THEY will know whether its gonna run well or not.
Jockey flew over the favs head at ampton on the downhill bit, should get a nice tow off marky and outstay him.

Not patting myself on the back at all!.....you actually go to P2Ps but wont put anything up...whys that??
I enjoy the Hunters, seems reasonable that I would take an interest in putting something up. Why would I go for something I dont think will win.....I dont make the prices!
btw...will it be fav?

The Ampton race was nowhere near as good as this one

First thing that jumps out is the drop in trip and the fact that is now a 13yo. But although likely regressing does seem to maintain much of his ability.
Would I bet.. no, would I lay.. no

That's Rhythm a big lay for me koi on account of the jockey, the ground and the shorter trip. I reckon Marky Bob & Noble Ben might go too quick for him today and I don't consider Wakefield's 7lb a plus. Ballyeightra Cross also comes into it - the jockey rode a blinder on Cottage Oak at Kelso.

GL, nothing wrong with Nick Wakefield, has given the horse a decent ride everytime he's been on it....ground no problem at all....but it is for the rest imo..

its his opinion on the race and reasons why he things it will win. for all the shoite that is put up on here, for me its what the forum should be about. its up to whose reading it to decide whether its for them or not or if they agree or disagree. posts like yours 1st time poster are whats wrong with this place.

Koi provides detailed previews of Hunter Chase races throughout the season. I don't follow the Hunter Chase/PTP scene closely and koi's previews are a welcome addition to the forum. He is not telling the reader which horse to back, he is providing his opinion of what he thinks will win. It is up to the individual whether or not to follow any selection or make their own conclusions. I find the previews to be an excellent read and the result of a particular race doesn't alter that. Of course koi is not right all of the time but I've yet to encounter anyone who is. What I have noticed about you 1st time poster is that you are very quick to criticise koi but you never provide an alternative selection or preview of your own. Maybe that is because you can't.

so you mean the word excellent should be substituted with the word interesting, as for bannahan i was punting before red rum was atwinkle in your mams eye

the thing about koi. is, he is giving an honest assessment of what a horse has done and how he sees the race will pan out, he doesn't force anyone to bet his fancy. it is good information to punters who cannot do the work required to read a race, there are not many decent guys on here willing to put in the effort to try and help others. a lot more people appreciate what he is doing than are knocking his efforts, usually the guys who decry his assessments never ever put up their thoughts on how a race will be run. good luck koi. cheers.

I would think the value here has got to be backing Thats Rhythm in running.I can see it going bigger than 2/1 as both Marky Bob & Noble Ben can go off a fair like & they could have this fellow struggling to go with them early.

Delta I was happy enough at 2/1 & laying it at 4/5 to lock in the profit. As another Hunter specialist who got the same sort of stick as Koi gets now & refuses to post anymore on here says "Less is more" Once again well done Koi,don't let the knockers put you off.

Well done Koi, I have not been in here for months but just read this post before the race and was pleased to see Koi still posts his specialist hunter knowledge here, really interesting read wether I decide to follow or not.
Great Stuff Koi!
