Anybody who thinks that RUK is poor value is certifiable.
RUK is 1.0 second behind Turf Tv. ATR,whilst free is 7.0 seconds behind live action. You may not like the Presenters tonight (neither do I)but, the Channel is light years in front of ATR. |
By:
i dont trade in the run. if you think its value for your strategy then thats fine racingstar
By:
Agreed that it's the worst subscription channel out there, I just don't enjoy anything in between the action.
I keep moaning today, something needs to be done hear. |
By:
agreed, can't stand these 2
By:
20 notes is mental. I get ATR as part of my sky package, and there's more racing than RUK.
By:
DONT BLOODY SUBSCRIBE THEN. nobody forces you to.
By:
unless you are betting in running...its not worth 2 bob.
By:
Fidway's post sums it up perfectly.
It can be cancelled if you wish. |
By:
KAKatosi. Get your subscription back laying James's guess ups. Cheers Professor

A bargain for I/R home players imo. Would happily pay the same for ATR if they had the same minimal delay.
By:
i cancelled mine 12 months ago... dont miss it a bit...you can watch it for free on here, watch replays for free too..mugs playing £20.
By:
67P per day and people are bleating.
Take up knitting if that is too rich for your blood. |
By:
I do not mind paying the score a month would happily pay double if all you got
was a commentary and paddock shots. |
By:
You haven't got much choice of you want all British tracks on your tv. I think they can do far better, surely the current crop of presenters/pundits aren't the best out there? more features would be brilliant.
If I could only have one I'd take ATR, there is the massive bonus of racing from USA and Australia and Chapmans interviews and features with people like Henry Cecil and Freddie Head are far better than anything RUK have ever put together. |
By:
RUK is very good value. ATR should be paying us to watch their sh1te.
By:
Just a couple of years ago, you got RUK as part of the Racing Post Membership for about £200 pa.
They then split up and RP membership is approx £230 pa, whilst RUK is £240 pa. So between them they expect you to pay £430, more than double the price, and they wonder why membership has dropped ? Watch it free on the internet, I say. The picture is no worse either. |
By:
the problem is nobody really likes bagpuss or gordon honeymonster, now if they talked about tails of the riverbank or bill and ben we wouldnt mind so much.
By:
ATR is a bookmaker propaganda channel. They tell f****** lies to punters.
RUK is run for the presenters benefit. A private little club you are invited to listen in on for £20 a month |
By:
Makes me PMSL people moaning about paying 60p a day when they will s punk 50 times that on some mug bet,or more cancer sticks.
Any fan of horse racing has to have RUK. Sixty pence a day FFS |
By:
Most of the "upstarts" on here do not remember when you hardly saw a live race barring high days and holidays.
Now,in the "wannabee Culture" that exists, everybody wants something for nothing. |
By:
who needs presenters, pundits?
Show a test card between races. If you rely on tv pundits, you're in the wrong game. |
By:
Of course you 'have to have' RUK - If you take thew game seriously, and bet accordingly.
But if they just showed the racing - without the 'wibblywobblyway' WILLOUGHBY - and his 'nodding dog' Apprentice ..... I, for one, would manage JUST AS WELL - and be less irritated by the two arrogant, and insular, Tawts. |
By:
so why cant RUK just directly send us (or stream) the racetech pics and save themselves the cost of the presenters ?
By:
I agree percy.
The problem with a few on RUK is I'm helping pay for them and they are unwatchable, I'm an easy going geezer but I have to mute in between races, it's a ridic thing to have to do be doing. |
By:
i lay cooperman atr,fav picks, showing good profit, hes useless,i like steve on ruk,i would not lay his.gl,picture quality compared to atr,is superior.free tickets to some meetings also.

difficult to believe anybody could complain about £20 for RUK--its all about live races the other bits you can take or leave, personally I think they all do a good job and actually sometimes on a dull evening the chit chat between pretty ordinary races at Kempton can be quite good
By:
Yeh - its a waste of £20. Cancelled it once - then resubscribed for Cheltenham. last year. But I'm paying £20 a month for what ? Cancellation on the cards again.

It was inane, juvenile, puerile shlt. One pertinent reason why I will be cancelling |
By:
If you wish to miss quality Meetings, cancel.
After all,it is a free world. I know where the mute button is and frequently use it to avoid the views of anybody I do not like or respect. |
By:
agree with one of the postings earlier - like in the old days we had virtual mo live racing possible on TV.
& I do quite like the non racing chit chat between the racing who needs 24/7 racing talk anyway |
By:
I pay my 20 quid but given how little RUK put in, i would prefer them just to show the races without any comment/presenters. Maybe it would then only cost 10 quid per month.
Chapmans pieces with Cecil, Balding, Fallon etc and much more have been superb imo and for that alone ATR is better and ATR comes as part of an overall tv package. |

100% spot on. I can see no reason they can't have consistent preview of each race involving form, speed figures, ratings, etc... oh hold on.......its really C*ral TV in disguise ![]() |
By:

Only 1 flaw in that reasoning. They would have to graft for their money so no chance of that happening. |
By:
atr = free. you can get the whole sky sports package for what ruk charge, should be £5 a month imo, i might buy it then
By:

Agreed like or loath ATR, at least they show some attempt and creating quality "Filler". The Kauto Star piece where he went back to the barn in France where he was born was good too and their website/ipad/iphone sites are galaxies clear. I have 20 quid pack to watch RUK on laptop and need to extra 10 for the honour of wtaching it on ipad.....b*llocks imho I am thinking of cancelling too |

Go to the 99p Shop, alleged, you flimper.

Anyone who thinks paying £20 a month is not good value for ruk is not a true racing fan, there is a reason it has all the best courses on board (ascot coming shortly) and atr is left with the dross, must admit quite like chapman ( should be on ruk) but blundering bob cooper reminds me of John Cleese, all you punters who don't want to spend your £20 a month on Ruk can spend it on the many insurance or life policies you are watching on atr, keep going Ruk your doing a grand job.
