On the 31st January 2013, Betfair are planning to remove the 'revert to old' function and therefore close down the current site that the majority of us use. This is inspite of a lot of negativity and objection from large numbers of their customers. In my opinion this is yet another blinkered decision my a company with zero customer focus.
In a vain last ditched attempt to stop them from ruining the product I ask you to sign this petition. If there is enough support for this cause I will direct Breon Corcoran (CEO Betfair PLC) to the contents as well as the Business editor of every national newspaper.
Still haven't had any follow-up from Site Feedback about the problem of duplicated bets on the new site. I'm assuming it hasn't been fixed, therefore I won't be using it. (It obviously has many other issues just as annoying to others on here. I just wondered if anyone else has had any feedback about fixing these).

Pumphol - this is a petition not a referendum!! so you wont get many "Nays"
Despite the new system being cra p, BF will say that.......
x% of users use the new system and Only x% of users use the forum facility and Only x% of those who use the forum facility signed the petition.

Still too many bugs on the new site. Can only assume BF thinks the payment of staff IT bonuses for "completing" the new project are more important than the risk of customers going elsewhere.

I think your missing the point, by putting up a petition for people to sign that prefer the NEW site, then you get a chance for a somewhat more balanced view, having a petition for just one site could be construed as not having a level playing field. Having two sites gives people the opportunity to vote either way if they wish, any one petition will only ever serve one side of any story.

I used the new site almost solidly for a week or so at the start of the month and this bug has almost gone, altho it did still happen twice, which is two times too many really innit?
There are still huge problems tho, the worst imo is betslip updates, it's easy to think you haven't been matched or the bet has expired, and to get on again and again and again...because you often have to click on another market then back again to see the green and red positions and betslip updated.
Most bugs were pointed out last year, most still haven't been fixed, the last dialogue I had ended with me being told they would give me an update, this was on the 21st, I'm still waiting

I did receive today an email from BF saying the duplicate bets issue had now been resolved. I'll give it a try tomorrow, but as you say there are still a lot of other problems.

Besides the 'bug troubles' why doesn't anyone address the issue of people being happy with what they're comfortable with? I'd assume many on here are like me and see things as 'better the devil you know' - I hate change!
Some of us dinosaurs aren't too conversant when being forced to adapt to something different, after finally having 'mastered' the old ways. I'm sure I'm not alone in having lost hard currency when attempting something new.

I've received an e-mail from Betfair today pushing their fixed odds site (which I'm not interested in in the slightest) but part of the e-mail said:
"We've been listening to your thoughts on the new Exchange site, and - while it's still our intention to close the old site down - we will continue to develop the new Exchange site in line with your feedback before doing so."
They appear not to be listening to their customers at all - as usual.
Time to make this thread a 'page one sticky' just so Betfair are left in no doubt just what it is their customers want.

I did tentatively try using the new site today and, with fingers-crossed, it didn't duplicate any bets. However I just felt uneasy, wondering if it would do at any time. The up/down price buttons are still unreliable and the whole operation is slower than the old site in my opinion.

Still having probs with new site. The bet doesn't always show on page and one thinks it hasn't gone through hence a duplicate bet is made. Yesterday attempted to place a lay bet but didn't show up so went to old site and it hadn't gone through. Also get fed up of the limit notices that pop up. What's wrong with £2 on an outsider?

Yes, but Betfair aren't bothered what its customers want are they? They just plough on regardless thinking we'll all just accept their cr@p eventually.
Guess what Betfair: We won't.

Over 300 signatures to remain with the 'Old' site - and still only one - yes one - who prefers the new site.
I'll bump the other thread in fairness.

bf fananatic, back on 19th Jan you said you wouldn't sign, as you said all the bugs on the new site had been ironed out. From the posts above that certainly doesn't seem to be the case.
Have you any comments since then, especially as approx 400 people have signed this petition, and only yourself has signed the petition to keep the new site?

Smiley Jack, I think the point's been more than proven. If this result isn't a landslide I don't know what is! Have you sent the results to the CEO as you proposed?

There is no confirmed date for this. In the meantime, work to fix bugs and react to feedback is ongoing.

New site is complete rubbish..... This is my first time back for a little while because of it, Ive gone 'Purple'. Then when I first opened it up, I got this fixed odds rubbish, and couldnt even find the New/Old site, and didnt know how to have a bet, and Ive been here from the start of Betfair. I had to delete it from my Favourites, delete cookies, and go in again. Finally got back and went straight to 'Old' site. Its a shame that 'Purple' dosnt have the volume yet..... but it will if Betfair keeps putting on this crap and trying to make us change. Betfair is better and easier on my iPad. Lose the 'Old' site, and you will lose quite a lot of us. Going 'Purple' has actually made me put a cap on my activity, I just do the UK racing, rather than the pantomine horse racing in the USA, where the jockeys just gun the horses from the start, and dont ride out finishes, and there seem to be no rules to stop it!
