Most trainers would win egg and spoon races with the horses he gets thrown tbh

At least you can depend on his to be trying tho,if John Joe was training that you couldn't play.

he certainly knew what he was doing when he was buying horses for Sheikh Mo at the sales,

they didn't do well on the flat but all had potential for the jumps when he'd eventually start training Crazy

Lots of trainers get the ammunition to go to war with but they dont have the strike rate this man has. On top of being prolific, his charges usually run as they are expected. When they are heavily supported they dont half be on the premises, when they are a bit weaker then they dont seem to perform as well. Thats not for a moment saying anything untoward about the man,its a feather in his cap that not alone can he train them,he also knows the good ones from the lesser ones. O Regan is a decent rider too to have on side so all in all its avery good operation. It compares very favourably with the likes of Hobbs whose stable is littered with expensive purchases ,who not only is clueless but is a rather poor trainer bearing in mind the chances he is given. Having Johnson and Tom O Brien throwing their legs over them doesnt help either.

Tom O Brien was never the next big thing, not in most peoples eyes surely.

not in my eyes either but when he was having a few winners a couple of years back, they (racing channels and some on here) were singing his praises and now ...

I'd love to see the P/L of Ferguson horses when they are, say, 2/1 or shorter.  Seems to me that he has a disproportionate amount of favourites turned over.

I could be wrong though.  And he is in good form at the moment.

He isn't half in form at the moment, last 7 runners = 5 winners.

I didnt know what you were referring to there Bassanio, had to do a bit of research to find out. That person although a namesake and from the same county is not me or has anything to do with me either. The few horses i have had have not been signed for by myself. On a side note i hope for his sake his record at buying horses is better than mine, and the last time i backed a 16/1 winner they were pulling our lord off the cross.
