He gives you no confidence with his habit of hitting the flights , he needs to improve his hands somehow.

Thought Johnson was out ridden by Walsh in the last race and now can't steer home a sure fire winner. Not often i slate a jockey but i've disliked him since he gave Planet of Sound a howler in the Grand National

I expect he was worried that if he tried to "pop it" he'd be slagged off for not riding him into the last by all you armchair experts.

zaynar, just watched it 4 times and the reins did lengthen when he encouraged to jump the last, not sure whether it was because the horse put down but something was not quite right.

Surely though FB, there is a time and place to pop and a time and place to ask for big one. Even us "Armchair experts" are allowed an opinion Mischief Laugh

At no time, was johnson in control of his mount in the 100 yards before the final hurdle. If he was mine, i'd wouldn't let him near my horse.

^ zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Plenty of good jockeys, plenty of poor ones as is life. I'm not criticising Dickies ability as a jockey. I am stating I thought he made a mistake in asking for a big jump when one imho was not needed.

Horse seemed to jink away to right twice before last unbalanced  surely should have just been sat on rather than a panicky throw into the last ?
