A very Happy New Year to you, AD.

I don't often post on the HR forum, but when I dip in I almost always read your very informative threads.

Well done. You're valued perhaps more than you think.

JAMIE SPENCER'S SO EXCITED

1st January 2013

By Kevin Francis
http://www.dailystar.co.uk

JAMIE SPENCER begins a new chapter in his career today, claiming: “It’s a massive and very exciting challenge.”

Former champion jockey Spencer will ride as first jockey to Sheikh Fahad Al Thani and his family.

The two-year deal, which begins today, will see Starform columnist Spencer playing a pivotal role in the future of the ambitious Qatari owner’s racing empire.

Spencer is the first retained rider for Sheikh Fahad and he said: “I’m very excited by it all, mainly because of the relative infancy of the whole thing.

“Sheikh Fahad and his brothers have only had horses in the UK since 2010. It is all relatively new and I am looking forward to the challenge.”

The 31-year-old Spencer was Irish champion in 2004 when riding as first jockey to Aidan O’Brien at Ballydoyle.

Then, after quitting that job, he landed the British title outright and then shared it with Seb Sanders in 2007.

In 2010, he was contracted by Dr Jim and Fitri Hay, through whom he was able to ride again for Ballydoyle as the Dubai-based owners had shares in Cape Blanco.

Cape Blanco became champion turf horse in the United States and another of their horses, Fame And Glory, won the Ascot Gold Cup.

Now Spencer is ready for a new challenge and said: “They have bought a lot of yearlings, so the two-year-olds coming through this summer will be very exciting.

Anaglogs, like to agree with most that your threads are a class above and certainly hope your future is bright.
Me?  I have been in this game long enough not to be greedy and survival is the first rule so I can't complain.
May all decent posters have an exceptional year and the usual toxxpots get buried in debt.
