Having come across the above course and having an interest in learning how to scalp the horse racing markets successfully, I was wondering if any fellow members had either started or completed this course and what their views on it was?

As a novice to this type of trading does any1 have any views on where best to gain some knowledge on developing this skill, ie other worthwhile courses or books?

Any views would be appreciated? Grin

Hi Mark. I'm currently in the process of moving from being an IR player to more of a pre-race trader. The course has certainly helped me in various ways. It's given me a really good insight on the different ways in which the markets can be traded, not just scalping, along with the key indicators that cause prices to move in and out. I have tried to dabble in the pre-race markets over the years, but to be honest I've never really understood how the markets move, and more often than not I do my cash. Personally this course hasd really helped me to analyze the markets more quickly and I definitely feel more in control when I'm trading, as opposed to my previous haphazard approach. I'm still only playing for relatively small stakes at the moment, as you still have to put in the hours trading as many races as possible to get really consistent, but I'm well pleased with my progress. I've also signed-up for his weekly webinar, and once again this has been really helpful.

I've read 'The Daily Trading Coach' which is a great book that deals mainly with the psychology of trading, and apparently 'Trading in the Zone' by Mark Douglas is recommended.

Hope this helps - Dave.

Hi Dave,

Yeah that's great to hear, thanks for your thoughts. It's good to hear that the course has given you a much better understanding on why and how the markets move and also how to trade them, I definitely feel this would benefit me greatly.

I'll def check those books out as well. Cheers

Let me see if I have this correctly, progambler.
You are moving from an area (In Running) where you can see the reasons for any fluctuations to Pre Race Trading where you are effectively "having a stab"?

Probably operates/operated out of a trading shop and the advantage/edge has gone so hence the change to pre race. Could be wrong but i doubt it.

Buzzer,
If you cannot make it pay In Running, you are a million against getting pre race trades right.

Pictures are too far behind nowadays in shops so he's probably going to give pre race a go rather than travel to the tracks.

Yep, I'm Jack and so is my wife!

... and yes I do operate from an exchange shop. However, I'm looking to move to the coast and would therefore like the option of either playing in-running off BF live video and RUK and/or having a stab at the pre-race game.

Cheers - Dave.

Interesting reading the last 4 very useful views!!

All I was after is some confirmation as to whether this course was any good and if it was worth parting with a decent amount of money to get a greater understanding on this type of trading!

Thought some fellow forum members may have bought it and could get their views, nothing more than that cheers star & saddo!

WOM eh? ... I'll give that a crack tomorrow and see how I go (that comment really did make me smile). I'll wait for someone to put up a big lump and then I'll jump in front of it ... should do the trick.

... and if you can't make money IR off the BF live video and RUK then you'd better give up and find another profession.

Cheers - Dave.
