a good few years ago i took a girlfriend (on reflection not the sharpest tool in the box)to catford dogs stadium ,it was her first visit and when she saw the tic-tac men in action ,she said to me "oh  there must be a lot of deaf people here "

Well if chelsea girl and yeahyeah are the yardstick about which Ladies knowledge

of horseracing is to be judged by, well then they know plenty.

My wife does because she used to attend race meetings with me from when we first met. I was ill a few years ago on Fighting Fifth day and she took my youngest son to the track and backed five winners. Keeps reminding me when I'm on a losing run.

holywell, that reminds of a girl I knew in the late 50s early 60s, she was

good looking, a bus conductress who loved going to Hackney Wick, Clapton and

Walthamstow dogs, she was a very very good judge of a greyhound and when she

napped one it invariably won.  She was also a grand shag.  Happy days.

Jenny Pitman seemed to know quite a lot about racing ...

seldom I met her once at Doncaster, a real horror.

mine bet the Grand Nat winner but it had no effect as she was waiting for it to go back ..................Each Way!

I used her bus the 38 from Loughton to Victoria many times never paid once.
