Nigel Shields back running his horses in the UK ?

Predictably been gambled in a dreadful race .... I seem to recall an occasional UK runner over the years,  since he went Stateside,  cant remember off the top of ma heed though.

Not a cheap buy either - £130K last season at the breeze-ups

Didn't look without hope at Windsor after a slow start on ground which might not have suited.

I will not touch AW racing with a barge pole! Most of the races are sorted out the night before amongst the trainers and jocks!

wolverhampton brings crookkedness into disrepute.......every one involved are villains.....if ya get caught ya take out a license in the wifes name......if a punter gets done.....he gets warned off.....another joke.....

Its first ever run  ... how do you know the ground was unsuitable ? Quinlans newcomer may have stunk a bit ( surprise, surprise ) but if Johhny G trained that winner no one would bat an eyelid .....
Shields lands a touch with some good placing for a trainer who's only hit form in the last two weeks, in a race where you'd only need to run to about 70 to be a good thing and people are moaning !

u will find it is easier to lnd a touch......when most of the jocks and trainers in the race......have their money on the winner......

i see nothing wrong with nigel putting his money down in a maiden on second start.

none of that rancid handicapping nonsense, which he could easily have done.

Obviously there will be countless unsavoury races on the sand this winter ... nobody needs reminding of this.  However this was just a very moderate maiden, to suggest anything underhand went on among the principals is being paranoid for paranoias sake.

there are countless unsavoury races on the all weather is right.....about half a dozen every meeting ......its a complete farce......

Arrested Development. The horse is by Oasis Dream! He was allergic to soft going! Connections knew what they were doing on its debut and you won't see him run on soft again. Well, not unless they want to tee him up for a punt again that is. Bobby, is not far off the mark. So, I'll expect some solicitors letters through the post too then?

i never take much notice of workrider......hes more stupid than the average village idiot......if he was getting solicitors letters for being a fool......he wouldnt be able to open the front door.....

Fair enough point Whippin,  although you'll do your bollicks being that dogmatic about every progeny of a particular sire !
As I said though if this was Gosen or Meehan trained nobody would have an issue with the debut run, so I think its unfair to assume this was hooky.

Yeah, I know what you mean about being dogmatic about certain progeny acting on certain going. But, that race had all the hallmarks of the "glorious uncertainty" of horse racing....not! I don't touch the AW as in my opinion its rancid. Unless your privy to inside information on that type of racing, then you've got no chance. Good luck to those that are fiddling and making a few quid. But, the cost to the game will be much more in the long run.
