you gotta be joking pal?

i think 5 lb would have stopped him today.

![]() good fishing imo Frankel looked decided ordinary today if we are honest. sts wouldve had him in is pocket over 10 if they were both 3. ![]() |
By:
They were right not to go for the ARC with Frankel. Would have been the lay of all time as I have said on here before.
By:
He may get the Timeform Squggle, thats twice now

By:
yes he wouldnt have placed in the arc, they were right, as usual.
By:
Dancing Brave would have absolutely mullered him. Over to Phil Smith.
By:
Not sure about that Brigust?
By:
Prior to the race i thought cirrus was on the downgrade that 9f effort a couple back was not good?
By:
You realy should take a close look at CDA's form MJ. I thought Frankel was a good thing today.
By:
pointless Queally giving him a smack in the last furlong, was going better before the whip
By:
i thought he looked somewhat ordinary today i have to say. i know the ground was soft but i think it showed he is just a horse and other horses from the past wouldve beaten him today.
By:
I agree he was a good thing today, and he did it,my only gripe is with the Private Handicappers who give such elevated ratings, would he have give 5 lb to that today? i dont believe he would.
By:
I do believe he is the best miler i have ever seen on good ground!
By:
I don'y think that was quite his best but Cirrus is a very good horse who won the race last year so beating him fairly comfortably was still a better performance than any horse apart from himself has achieved in 2012.
By:
yep id agree with that.
wouldve have gone close to winning the arc. connections were right to duck it. |
By:
wouldnt have *

true sageform.

I think on good ground it was possible frankel could have taken the arc. Does Aidens go to the Breeders?
By:
Nathan much closer today, on bad ground not a bad effort from him.
By:
metro you are right. Trouble is the ARC is often run on very testing going
By:
Not true.
By:
Agree with sageform comments. Given that he had the run of the race it was disappointing that the second capitulated pretty quickly once off the bridle.

Dancing Brave would have absolutely mullered him. Over to Phil Smith. Brigust again picking races to suit. Not sure about how good DB was on soft ground, personally, didn't look so great on it in the Craven. |
By:
He would have suffered more with that start, in a more competitive race. It didn't make too much of a different with the stablemate slowing the pace right down.
By:
Yes i would agree with figgis on that one, just wish people would stop making judgements about 12f greats to mile greats, and some of the ratings given make no sense at all, imagine any of the greats trying to give 7lb away in any classic?
By:
Horrible ground, back end of the season, loses a few lengths coming out the stalls, only off the bridle after he ghosted past CDA. Horse of the century. Just a shame he has now been retired - would have loved to have seen him race on next year, & step up to 12f.
If the Champion was still being run at its spiritual home - the Rowley Mile - and taking place in its old spot in the racing calendar (ie, last Saturday) Frankel would have hosed up by 5 lengths or more. No doubt. |
By:
Most people dismiss the poor effort by Dancing brave in America, but why?
By:
Well said Figgis...Dancing Brave looked very workmanlike in that Craven - was it Mashkour he beat?
By:
Mashkour was 3rd, NV, Faraway Dancer was beaten a length 2nd.

Sorry, NG

Post not got the braves form in?
By:
i agree with brigust dancing brave would have mullered him, and the best decision henry made this year was to by pass the arc with him , he would have finished nearer last than first
By:
the horse can't win, people on here moaning because he may get pulled out due to the ground, saying he was wrapped in cotton wool, then when he does run against the 2nd best rated in europe who loves the ground and cruises past him on the bridle before being pushed out in tiring ground to win well, they moan it wasn't a good performance, he just beat the best there is around in bad ground that suited the other horse and did it well, add to that what happened in the mile race to frank the form, he can't do no more
A GREAT CHAMPION |
By:
No doubt a great champion who deserves to be rated up there with the other great racehorses. No-one can compare one era against the other yet all these TV pundits do exactly that. They are incapable of picking a winner in the vast majority of races yet persists in telling viewers it is the best there have ever been. They cannot converse without thinking they need to tell others they know more.

Frankel the best ever. Pox Doctor should see one.

Thanks Fig - can't remember Henry's pair Faraway Dancer & Mashkour meeting twice (Derby as well)
