3 shops, to survive they need the big punters to lose regularly. I was the biggest punter in a similar outfit, my decisions meant if the firm had a winning week or not. They kicked me out eventually, I wasn't winning fortunes either. A grand here and there on trap callenges. They sold out to ladbrokes in the end as the running costs meant it wasn't making sense to continue and that's fair enough of course. They were paying out full odds on dead heats and if anyone plays trap challenges they will know that happens fairly often. I miss those shops Sad

September is the time to pay gamb comm licence / councill licence etc etc.

Mr Wright has come to the conclusion its "wrong" not "wright" to be paying these parasites.

If he has any sense Mr Wright will see the Wright way to go is to keep a few decent phone customers and deal with them and do the odd Sat in a boozer.

That way Mr Wright will not be paying SIS TURF GAMB COMM PAPERS COUNCILL LEVY and all thje other leeches that have been taking his profits.

Good luck Mr Wright it may be Wrong but it makes sense you will take thousands and thousands less but end up making hundreds more.

Its not wright but niether is paying fortunes to all the above.

You will swap £100000 in expenses for new expenses of a pad a pen and a pint.
Report porter October 14, 2012 1:23 PM BST
maineroad, what about his clients he owes , the punter loses out again
Report wee eck October 14, 2012 1:31 PM BST
porter how do you know that Mr Wright will not do the wrong thing by them by doing the right thing?
Report barry dennis October 14, 2012 1:33 PM BST
porter, of every thousand pound owed by both sides, £999 by punters £1 by bookmakers
Report porter October 14, 2012 1:39 PM BST
i owe not a penny to bookmakers , pay as the statement comes in, owed thousands by bookies going under
Report wee eck October 14, 2012 1:45 PM BST
barry, is right I have been betting for over 60 years and during that

time the number of bookies going skint and leaving on is a tiny

proportion in comparison to punters bumping.
Report VALUEMAN October 14, 2012 1:51 PM BST
Barry is right on that front.

Nothing wrong with paying the customers you owe and shutting the doors.
Report porter October 15, 2012 9:26 AM BST
valueman this bookie has shut the door and not paid customers
Report adge October 15, 2012 10:19 AM BST
but that will be paid from the funds as they come in from losing punters[ which will be much greater ]
