Where did Youmzain finish ?

Utter nonsense!

Connections of Orfevre have (Frankel aside) the best 12f horse in the world, and he'll prove it wherever he goes!
I won't be alone in believing he's a really special colt that's better than most Arc WINNERS!

Maybe the winner isn't THAT brilliant but that was a well-above average Arc de Triomphe in my opinion, and it's a pity it was run on such desperate ground.

soumillon done nothing wrong the best horse won
Report Navel-Gazer October 7, 2012 9:22 PM BST
FF - I'm not being critical of Soumillon as that's very convenient with hindsight...it's not as if he kicked for home 3f out - he gave it a great ride and it's just one of those things that happens now & again - it reminded me a bit of Wayward Lad getting nailed in the Gold Cup when it really did look like game over!

That would've been a 1.01 if there was Betfair I/R in 1986!

If Orfevre meets Solemia again, I have no doubt who'll win, and furthermore, who'll be long odds-on to do so!

That does sound like sour grapes and a bit harsh on the winner I suppose, but the best horse in the race didn't win!

Wonder if the connections of C D Aigles are kicking themselves for not preparing him for the Arc rather than taking on Frankel - I know which way I would have gone.

good post imo.

although beaten seemingly fair and square and he was, he passed the entire field in a furlong and sprinted clear. arrived in front WAY too early and had he actually been produced last he'd have won like dancing brave. hes initial move actually reminded me of DB's arc. really spectacular move and i was blown away to see soumi arrive there so quickly and easily.  the winner is obv a good horse and wore down the 2nd late on and thats that but I would happily back the 2nd if they ever met, amazing performance from stall 18 imo.

special horse imo.

pity Nathaniel and Danedream were withdrawn

but a lot of solid yardsticks in there

the second looked a class act

the winner ran the race of her life in the conditions

Arc form always good imo
