Saw Mr Pegley 7 years ago in a bookies in my home town. His good lady was sightseeing! He looked fine.
When he bet on the rails, John had the most stentorian voice, to put Stephen Little's squeals to shame. Loved to have an opinion in running (esp NH) to lay with the most booming voice. A top man. Hope all is well. |

little as mad as a march hare wonder if he still riding that bike ...............he once took a lumpy bet off us on a crooked race .......although we stupidly asked for a cheque which costa lot of people there liberty ......not many bookies would take a 30k bet at 5/1 in a jump v flat jockys race ........shows how game he was as were a few of the old bookies ,,,,,,,,,,,,good luck to anyone today trying to get on big at a racecourse
