My Mate Vinnie:
Looked an improver when runner-up at Southwell last November on third outing over hurdles (2m4f), but mainly disappointing since and tailed off up to this trip in tongue-tie (retained) latest; likely to show more again at some stage, but best watched at present

Was a bad race though Onlooker, mind you improved a bit for its last run over C/D 2 months ago btn 71 lengths!
The Stewards considered the apparent improvement in form of the winner, MY MATE VINNIE (IRE), ridden by Maurice Linehan and trained by Jonjo O’Neill, compared with its previous run at Uttoxeter on 30 July where the gelding finished eighth, beaten over 70 lengths. They noted the trainer’s explanation that the gelding benefited from a soft palate operation. They ordered MY MATE VINNIE to be routine tested.
Personally i think that they ringed it with Cousin Vinny!

What a retard only puts up the winner after the race pointing out there had been a nibble from 16s to 11/1 a real helpful thread for all punters.
