Never thought I'd see the day I'd be saying this but I'm baffled that people bet on the horses every day these days. Most of it is total rubbish and I don't care if someone produces stats to prove otherwise but there are far far too many shorties beat every say for it just to be a coincidence. Far more enjoyable and profitable to bet much more on the football these days for me. You've the same chance betting on the cartoon racing than the real stuff unfortunately.

By:
I trust you're making plenty laying the shorties ?
|
By:
Haven't you just posted your new strategy then MJK , lay the shorties.
Btw bookmakers have a party twice a year , one of celebration at the beginning of the soccer season and one to drown their sorrows when the season ends. Good luck whatever you decide |

A lot of sense in that post |
By:
There isn't an ounce of sense in his post ! He doesn't even care if someone actually proves he's wrong ! And if he believes that more than enough shorties are getting turned over, why isn't he laying them until his nose bleeds ? Dear,oh dear !
|
By:
So tame you don’t think the fact anyone can now lay horses has not affected the game ?
And those who solely lay horse actually enjoy the sport ? The whole point in betting is to beat the bookies you don’t think that’s true ? |
By:
I blame those backers myself they just encourage those nasty layers.
|
By:
Still only half time and anything can happen but both Arsenal and Bayern ht/ft were far more inviting bets for me than any horse running today. At least I know they're trying if nothing else.
|
By:
you cetainly arent better backing the cartoons either. at about 140%
of course laying has led to some naughtiness behind the scenes. you can hardly be surprised. didnt work for me though-did everything i had laying one that couldnt win not really jimnast- i know loads who are massive bores about racing but enjoy both sides of it without laying id still be digging holes in the road, so i cant knock it but its immeasurably more difficult now and many have gone under, me included i/r was a massive opportunity missed. its advent got many excited-the number of people who say they can spot a winner i/r must be a majority, ive encountered so many not true, obv but if the pic delay problem had been foreseen who knows how differently things could have turned out? and at least i/r you aint dealing with unscrupulous layers(mostly) took me 2 years to realise how far behind i was, mind im a bit fick. good luck to those who took advantage, it was free money that could have saved notfair from decline. if everyone hasd a fair crack there would be substantial rump of players who have given it up because they were behind, but who would have made a bit and been encouraged to remain guessing but anecdotally i suspect its true |
By:
Bayer Leverkusen tonight 1/2 ht/ft. Short, yes. But like last night I'd still feel safer doing this than relying on any horse today, win or lose.
|
By:
did it yesterday slickster, I'll be watching a nice movie this afternoon.
|
By:
Mostly football betting for me nowadays as well
I do like doing a Placepot still though MJK, I like looking at the associated markets on the football as well, rather than the win draw win market On the Leverkusen game you mentioned tonight, the ht/ft is at 1.54, but the "to win 1st half market" is also 1.54 to back, so same price without worrying about the 2nd half |
By:
Yeah could be the right thing to do. I'm waiting on them to win for a 6 team acca over the last three nights as well.
|
By:
1/25 getting beat yes lots of mugs around that's for sure.

Bayer Leverkusen tonight 1/2 ht/ft witch firm? |
By:
Spoils. Must be my money on it was 4/11 at lunchtime....
|
By:
The whole point of betting for me has always been to enjoy beating the bookies and enjoy the sport
Beating the bookies seems a bit outdated as a term in these modern days doesn't it? Either you beat them and they close you down, or you don't beat them? Reason I almost only bet using exchanges these days. |
By:
Though I realise some media still try to peddle the 'beat the bookies' tagline - e.g. Racing Post
|
By:
MJK..so you're winning with the books but they still laying you and your bet at 1/2 has now made it 4/11?
|
By:
I never said it was millions but I'm winning money on the football I was losing on the horses. Can't understand why it annoys you so much, no doubt you'll be praying my bet goes down. As for you last comment you obviously don't understand humour.
|
By:
I do also understand that some on here try to make out there's little corruption in racing as it would mean less people for them to win money from if they stop betting on it. Sad but true.
|
By:
glad you're winning wd..but im also aware if you win you get restricted pretty quickly.
|
By:
you wont win long term gambling ever unless you have an edge..im pretty sure betting on football ht/ft with books wont allow an edge.
|
By:
Game over as a contest pretty quickly
