I have not seem him riding beforeBlush
I do the jumps..

But it is not uncommon for jockeys on fancied horses to be eyeing up the perceived dangers
and something else slips away, or pinches it..none of them are perfect

For once his dad got it wrong and has admitted that. A pacemaker could have made a difference but thats not certain either, the winner looked well suited to the distance.

No, on three grounds.

1) JO'B is better than some give him credit for.

2) Spencer is too but for one major weakness -- he can't keep them straight -- that in any other professional sport would have been ironed out by his coach years ago, but racing is still living in the 19th Century so jockeys do not have coaches.

3) Camelot would have been going for the Arc not the Leger if he was all that good.

If O'Brien is Frank Spencer - Tom Queally is Harpo Marx.

The real comedians are people who take jockeys tips seriously.
No offence to Ryan Moore but to say the leger is full of G2 & 3
horses & Camelot was a class above seemed to ignore the fact that over 1m4f that may be the case but 1m6f its a completely different ball game as Shergar also found out.

Why does anyone take jockeys tips seriously?
How often does a stable jockey who has ridden both, pick the wrong horse when they only have two to pick from.

Ramruma - fair points but the point you made at 2) is about to change

did anyone ask AO why the leger not the ARC, if they didnt that in itself is a disgrace imo, cos no body seriously thinks the leger is a better race do they?

Owner Tabor is a traditionalist and wanted English racings ultimate prize the Triple Crown. Only one horse Nijinsky in the modern era has done it.

by whom?

coolmore are a business plain and simple the leger love it or not is not a boost to a horses value at stud, i simply do not believe that

On its own definately nowhere near increasing a horses stud value than the Arc. As final leg of the Triple Crown imeasurably more valuable & gives legendary status - We still talk about Nijinsky over 40 years after the event as the 'greatest'. Three classic wins from 1m - 1m6f.

O and he also won the Irish Derby,King George & beaten an inch
in the Arc after being baulked suffering from ringworm & given
too much to do in the mud by Lester but all thats incidental.

He only got that job because of his dad. What are Tabor and Magnier thinking? They seriously need to get an experienced top jock for their number one, surely they will for next season?! Either that or the tail is wagging the dog at Ballydoyle.

have they had a stable working relationship over a long period with a jockey?

Heffermen has been there for donkeys years but never been number one, even though he is very solid and reliable.

Michael Kinane was top jock there for 5 years, but they do seem to go through jockeys at a rate of knots.
