Badly drifted in betting and couldn't have done anymore not to win. Puts a line through the argument of everything in decent races is trying. Flat racing's at an all time low. The sooner the jumps is back the better.

Drift seemed odd, moreso when you saw the ride. Didn't look wanted certainly.

Nobody will question anything.  They're only interested in praising Spencer when he wins a race.

To me, and I never bet it, it looked like Frank was looking to find traffic problems in the middle, realised there weren't going to be any, and so veered right across to the rails and successfully managed to get blocked.

LUKE HARVEY was singing Spencer's praises yesterday -

Mind you - that shows what Harvey knows.Sad

That was a very disappointing ride, backed it win and place and had it in my placepot. Watching the race unfold I knew fairly early on I had done my dough and the banker place that I had it as as well. I feel pretty sick after that I must say.

gbtp, exactly the scenario. Funny though how it's only us punters who saw that and not any stewards or tv pundits.

They see it MJK but they refuse to say anything thereby condoning and perpetuating it.

some balls to do that in a Group 2

That's what I don't understand, a filly in a Group 2, and he produces a ride like that?

You'd have to have Hayley confirm that boss

I am no great fan of Spencer but, in my view, the criticism here is over the top - the filly was held up as normal and did not look to have the speed to pick these up at this trip - to suggest they were not trying to win a Group 2 beggars belief - there again, we all have our opinions -

ANALYSIS

Hoyam had the beating of Fire Eyes on York running and a 3lb pull for a length gave her a chanceof reversing Queen Mary running with Ceiling Kitty, but she ran a rather odd race here.
Held up in the centre group after breaking slowly, she looked like playing a part when asked to close over a furlong out, but with Morawij edging left under pressure she found her path blocked and her rider switched her right over to the stands´ rail. Even then she didn´t appear to have much room to play with and while she wouldn´t have won had she been able to run in a straight line, she would have made the frame.

Macs Power would have gone closer with the entire Fanshawe family riding him.......absolutely pitiful that this is what passes for a top class jockey in this game

What didn't you like about the ride Jonjo? The fact he was never put in the race to challenge? Him going to the stands rails for no apparent reason then back? The premature easing when others were coming quickly back to him (wouldn't have placed anyway to be fair)? Or the fact it was on a big drifter?

agree with jonjo. I'm pocket talking though, as I had a sizeable bet on Macs Powere. Had no ride for my money !
