i have a e90 limit win per bet on my ac.

So nobody on the horse racing forum knows anything about this. This place must be mug central or minnow city.

You are restricted to only being able to place a bet either to a certain payout limit or stake limit, there are multiple threads on here talking about the same thing, look back thru the thread titles, normally they restrict you because in their opinion you are arbing, whether this is right or wrong, that's their normal reasoning, some will tell you the reason but most will just say it's a trading decision that won't be reversed. As to your question are they not bookmakers, simply put, no, they are mini casino operators operating legally with a bookmakers licence, they are making so much money from the FOBT's that they don't need the hassle of what, in this case they deem to be a troublesome account. You could of course just be a winning punter and that's why they are closing you down, only you know this.

He sounds like hot **** to me, Gandalf.
mug central or minnow city. ![]() |
By:
Had I seen that Saddo, I would not have replied, the way he mentions " Horseracing forum " and is not wide to account restrictions, leads me to believe that he is an arber, I was being nice in giving him the option to spoof he was a "winning punter".

No lads i ain't talking about my account, i'm talking about a very recent decision by Powers have made in regards to early morning prices available in their shops, it also has something to do with BOG races. I bet on the jumps in the winter i actually only really bet on football to be honest so that's why i was asking. I was just wondering what is the decision they actually made.
By:
nice answer G the G
could not be botherd to answer myself as he is fishing or has not botherd to read all the other complaints re bookmakers |
By:
you will have to go in their shop 2morrow nd find out. Dont think many of their shops do BOG for multiples...maybe singles only..
By:
Ok, as people are actually don't know what's going on. Powers shops in Ireland you can place a single bet take a price and if the SP returns higher you get the SP. This is called B.O.G online.
The stake limit were BOG would apply was €500 or €250 e/w. That has been reduced to €100 win or €50 e/w. Weather you can get 500 on morning prices is another matter entirely. |
By:
I am Bok i am not saying i am restricted (Even though i am but that's from betting football i'm clueless at horse racing) i'm saying they've made a big decision recently in regards to their early prices. available in shops.
By:
So no restriction on how much you put on just how much you can put on before your not getting guaranteed prices.
By:
Thanks Squigs, so basically i might be able to get 100 EW on but only 50 ew will be at BOG? Are all their early prices in shops BOG?
By:
rocket i do worry about your sanity at times.......was this not explained to u on the irish forum....
By:
No richters, all i got was Mr head in hands. My big question is they're just covering themselves with the BOG? But you can still get 200 or 300 on at their early prices. It's a joke, i would hate to try and make money at horse racing or be passionate about it, all the bookies do is clamo down.
By:
Q1
I don't know, I assume they would give you €50 e/w at BOG but again I can't say for definite. Q2 All early UK and Irish horse SINGLES is the important thing to know. Obviously doesn't apply to an Antepost market. |
By:
you don't bet so i wouldn't worry about it.
By:
I'd love to get e50 ew on....

By:
squigs, dublin here, just spoke to PP on phone those limits only apply to specials, told if i had a 1000 on at 6/1 and wins at 8/1 thats no prob, have been doing this reg and never had a problem, obviously the bet might be referred and then you might get a restriction but thats only if bet is outside the max and if you click on the max button when betting online the max figure is given that will be accepted no problem, also have reg 1000 at bog in shops, it's just where it's a special

GandalfTheGrey - as displayed on this thread and many more, you clearly have a dislike for arbers, fair enough however the fact is, why do bookmakers even offer prices on horses they have no intention of laying - answer = very simple!! So it gives them an excuse to close/restrict accounts and blame it on arbers lol
The whole situation with bookmakers is quite simply ridiculous, if you were to back a horse at say 9-1 and then discovered that say powers had it at 10-1 even though it was 8 1/2 on here - does that make you a arber? Can we all have a go at you arbing? Its like anything in life, you buy something at the lowest price you can, or if investing you try to get the best return - If I were to open a savings account and used a bank with a 1per cent higher rate - would i be wrong in doing that? Bookmakers shouldn't offer prices that dont exist - if people arb - who the f*** cares!! People would be best to stop using their fobts and they would return to doing the business they are supposed to do, as for being mini-casinos, yes they certainly are but then nothing will be done about that as the sordid government gets a cut from that and they couldn't care less so long as their pockets are well and truly lined lol |

marko69
agree 100% with what you say great right up |
By:
marko, you're selectively choosing to recall some of my posts, if you read what I wrote about UK bookies/FOBT's all along, you will see that I have said that they are in the main, responsible for closing down the betting side of UK bookies and it's going to get worse, I don't give a flying fcuk who arbs, me calling him an arber is me being polite rather than call him what he so plainly is, an ignorant kunntt. There are a good deal of accounts closed down because people are arbing, I know this to be fact from a very good source. I'm old school and back a horse because I have spent time selecting it and want it to win. I have no problems getting bets on in the shops or online here in Ireland so each to their own.

By:
Rocketfingers is not an arber he is a fantasist whose best friend is the nocturnal obsessed Never Give Up famed for his accusations of sexual deviancy and sixteen hour stints on here.
Rocketfingers has come out with some great statements though. There were no chases run at Punchestown, when the actual chases were named he retreated to saying they were bank races not chases. He stated spread betting was his speciality yet thought you got a specific price Claimed he could get a hundred grand on an Irish club soccer match using the Asian markets. When in a discussion on Islam stated weren't they great to women sure they don't let them work. His last thread here was to follow Weld at Galway after he had chalked up three winners, result three beaten Weld favourites in a row. He is King Midas in reverse. |
By:
Sure you're a farmer out bailing some guys straw untill 11pm, what would you know about spreadbetting, Islam or Asian handicaps?
By:
think all the forum knows what wildbore/dark rosaleen is up to...........he/she/it has gone mental on here since being exposed as a cross dressing freak
By:
Gandalf, you keep saying on these threads that most of the punters the bookmakers restrict are people they think are arbing.
This is unequivocally not true - they are seeking to remove anyone they think has a chance of making a profit from their betting. Beating SP is not allowed, backing horses that subsequently shorten is not allowed, shopping around for the best price is not allowed, showing behaviour likely to lead to winning is not allowed, and obviosuly, making a profit from betting is not allowed. There's nothing else... |
