notsure Thanks for putting it up.I've been wondering where to go tomorrow after seeing the weather forecasts. Now my minds made up,Newcastle or nowhere. It now depends on how bad the forecast is for Newcastle whether I venture out or not.

The mushes went up but it was next to nowt. There was plenty of standing water & of course mud but it was fairly obvious when leaving that they couldn't take much more water.A horrendous forecast for tomorrow so that've probably made the right decision calling it off early rather than messing people about. Once again good management by Cartmel for which they should be congratulated.

wasnot there would have been no chance off getting cars on and off, and the middle was a right mess before racing yesterday, let alone after racing, sadly the correct decision has been made.

i know racecourse bookmakers dont look to far ahead but i was astonished at the ammount of bookmakers who left there joints after racing yesterday, without giving the weather a thought.

very surprised as cartmel is rarely called off in spite of being situated in one of the wettest parts of the UK I cannot even remember a cancellation and Ive been going since the early 70s

'Ploughing' through this lot for today - Started last night, as usual Treading carefully, though - Hate Bank Holiday Mondays, always have - But you have to make sure that you are not missing anything - without getting 'sucked in, though.

Yes, jim - Horrible 'Holiday meetings' - at such as Brighton and Yarmouth - out of the way now. September always one of my favourite months - most especially the Doncaster St Leger meeting.

I went to Cartmel once. If it wasn’t for the race commentaries you wouldn’t know they were racing because you can’t see a bleeding thing. And I’ve never seen so much smoke at a racecourse, it was wafting across the whole place from the barbeques in the woods. To add insult to injury, I had some fish and chips and the batter on the fish was burned to a cinder.
It's okay for a day out if you're down that way, but it's no place for the serious racing man.
