Have followed all kinds of tipping services in the past.... some cheap, some not so cheap... after a good start they either require extreem amounts of money or go dry!!

have you ever tried the great "skinto".not everyones cup of tea but he aint bad

you just follow the great tip off, you can't go wrong if your a punter
the great tip off doesn't lie thats the reason it was formed , if a tipping company isn't in it i wouldn't pay a dime

Even if there was one out there they wouldn't be much use to the average punter anyway.
If a tipster gave you 20 tips and had 3 winners then would you consider that good? Most punters would say no especially as it seems to be an industry standard to give profit or loss to £100 level stakes but what if those 3 winners were 8/1, 12/1 and 16/1? All of a sudden it doesn't look to bad now.
What do if those 3 winners went L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L 8/1 L 12/1 L 16/1?
How many would make it to the 8/1 winner let along the other 2? Plus if you trialled a service and it gave you 5 free tips and all were beaten as in anywhere between the first 15 above, then you probably wouldn't join it but if say your free trial was from the 8/1 winner onwards then you might be tempted to.

to true... dont think anyone expects a tipping serivce to make us millionaires, but we all know that the best punters have a system which they stick to, and that shows a profit (even if its small)

Independent proofing services that list the good the bad and the ugly.
It is a legal requirement for ANY tipster to proof results to at least 2 independent sources so sites like this and others are a good resource to see how the more ethical ones are performing.
AVOID those with huge adverts in the RP and stick to the smaller guys amongst loads of chaff there are a very few nice consistent ones.

The short and brutal answer is NO, if you knew of a good bet and wanted to back your knowledge, would you tell every body about it?
You would want to get on at the best price, not some depleted price, just because you couldn't keep your mouth shut, control the EGO and then you will win, plus have enough faith in your OWN intelligence, following tipsters means you should not be let loose in a betting shop or on this forum, teach yourself by LEARNING.

the only reason you lose following a good consistent tipster is if you do not like a few losers, the good consistent tipsters never fail over a reasonable period so who fails the punter who likes to back his own as well and losers the tipsters winnings on his own bets, then we see all this false claims that tipsters are rubbish it just shows you have failed yourself but why not blame someone else. when you claim tipsters are rubbish you are marked down as a losing punter who does not understand how the game works

You are correct know all. If you can't ride out the down times then don't bother at all and definitely stick to the tips and leave your own alone or at least have a different pot to play from. Always use level stakes and play the long game

Depends what you are looking for. If you want a miracle tipster that will make you rich then forget it. They dont exist.
If you want someone that might be able to point you in the right direction then many are good.
Most people who use tipsters do so becasue they lose less than picking thier own picks. They still lose though!!!!

the problem is then where do you find out about the winning tipsters not on any tipster review website they have always been bent, you have to pay and find out yourself, find a tipster who can prove the results and the only proofing system regulated is the racing posts, if you think the post is good or bad that is a fact no other tipsters proofing system is regulated, if a tipster is advertising last months good results then ask what his yearly results are pay your money for your apprentiship for at least 12 months and the majority of the good provable tipsters will make you a good profit.
do not join for a month it will tell you nothing.
when you find a service you like stick with it through thick and thin and you will make a good profits, it will cost you to find out a tipster who suits you but when you find it you will know and even if you leave you will go back one day because you know you if you did not make money the reason was probably down to you being greedy or thinking this is easy i can do it myself.

Why not just back the lay tipsters and lay the back tipsters 
I love how you always hear "why would you need to sell tips, why not just back them yourself" or "the goose that laid the golden egg" blah blah blah. Yes of course there are some dodgy people out there but assuming someone had a decent record of finding winners (even if that might be unlikely for most) why wouldn't you sell the information too?
In the past if would have been an issue if you couldn't get on as much as you wanted and so selling the info supplemented that and as for protecting the price, selling the info acts as compensation for that too plus you can get on on here now anyway and ask your own price or get on first before releasing the info.
I'm not naive enough to say there aren't plenty of liars, conmen and Walter Mitty types who wouldn't also use those excuses or reasons too but that still doesn't mean they can't also be legitimate ones for others...........oh and from knowing the predictable nature of this forum, no I'm not a tipster and no I don't use any of those excuse or reasons myself.
Knowledge is power though as they say and if someone knew where to buy something for half price and I wanted it and they were willing to sell me that information, as long as it was legit and at a reasonable price to pay for that info then would I be a mug to buy it?
Oh and just for goose measure, the actual meaning of the goose that laid the golden egg is that if you owned it, you don't sell it because you will no longer have it and so someone else will own the golden eggs from then on but selling a tip to someone doesn't mean you can't still back it yourself. Nobody owns a tip, which is why it's been thrown out of court before when others like relay agents have then passed that info on to a third party. Otherwise what if a tipster charging clients gave the same selection as a national newspaper tipster, can they sue that newspaper for copyright?
