Horse did the same at Yarmouth for a different jockey. Not defending Quinn but wouldn't have won whatever against a much stronger stayer.
Report bilbobaggins August 16, 2012 7:30 PM BST
I think what people are saying Barton is the idiot should have concentrated on riding rather than showboating like some moronic cocky dickhead.
Report Barton Bank August 16, 2012 7:31 PM BST
Don't disagree with that.
Report ClayDavis August 16, 2012 7:33 PM BST
Bad losers. Even if he didn't look around he wouldn't have won so what's the prob?
Report der_der_73 August 16, 2012 7:34 PM BST
no one is saying he would have won, most are saying it was comical that he thought he was going to win when he wasnt even in the front, then finished 3rd
Report Yoshi August 16, 2012 7:34 PM BST
he's very weak
Report Barton Bank August 16, 2012 7:34 PM BST
Liam Jones at Wolver the other night on the Haggas maiden was worse, and he would have won without the showboating.
Report ClayDavis August 16, 2012 7:48 PM BST
He wouldn't have won. End of. Doesn't matter if he looked around. If he would've won it would be a different story. Horse was way too keen throughout the race. Anyone watching it knew it wouldn't get home. grow up you kids
Report ClayDavis August 16, 2012 7:51 PM BST
I couldn't care less. HORSE WOULD NOT HAVE WON!!! What is so difficult to grasp about that please?
Report Nige down south August 16, 2012 7:54 PM BST
The thread is not about whether the horse would of won or not. It is about the jockey looking both ways 2 out.

Is that hard to grasp ClayDavis??
Report bilbobaggins August 16, 2012 7:56 PM BST
I think Clay finds a lot of things hard to grasp - not the sharpest tool in the box.
Report Gay Icon August 16, 2012 7:58 PM BST
We currently have the worst crop of jockeys riding ever. Paid professionals, many of whom give very unprofessional rides. Most couldn't give a toss about the punter who in effect pays their wages. 1 or 2 exceptions but the majority are a disgrace.
Report ClayDavis August 16, 2012 7:59 PM BST
Sharpest tool in the box eh? yet you cretins are moaning about a horse who pulled too hard and didn't get home and finished 3rd? Get a life ffs
Report bilbobaggins August 16, 2012 8:00 PM BST
I think you just confirmed it Clay - you cannot string a sentence together without some sort of insult or swearword. Juvenile to say the least.
Report ClayDavis August 16, 2012 8:06 PM BST
You don't get it do you?
Report Colonel Trautman August 16, 2012 8:10 PM BST
When jockeys are "looking round for dangers"...They quite often are doing just that, they know they have eff all left..Where most people think they are looking round in confidence..Think about it.(I agree they should hardly be looking about at all though)..
Report bilbobaggins August 16, 2012 8:10 PM BST
Well done  - 6 words without some sort of insult. You're learning.
Report Nonaynever August 16, 2012 8:12 PM BST
Clay the betfair forum is infamous for people pulling their faces and blaming others when they lose money, when they back a horse and see the jockey seemingly looking confident, for a second or two they think they've backed a winner. When that horse ultimately gets well beat, they sulk even more than usual.

You're on a loser trying to make them see that what the jockey did cost them nothing. Its a moaning thing.
Report ClayDavis August 16, 2012 8:17 PM BST
Nonaynever - agree completely
Report Nige down south August 16, 2012 8:19 PM BST
I had zero interest in whether the horse won or lost, however...

A jock of his experience would of been better pushing the horse forward between 2 and 1 out rather than sitting up and having a good old look around.

Would not have won as got outstayed but would def of been 2nd

^ I thought personally he was looking around to see if he could get his horse home in second,he knew the one in front had gone and was trying his best to achieve the best possible position for his mount.
I realise this opinion may not be popular but I also think its the truth.

Oh well looks like the bookies has closed.Blush
Report Barton Bank August 16, 2012 10:10 PM BST
This is a ridiculous thread, not one person has suggested the horse would/should have won and the argument about nothing rages on.
Report Arkle. August 16, 2012 11:27 PM BST
I backed him e/w. No one said he would have won but he definitely lost second. Bad ride end of story.
