extremely boring as he talks and talks and talks about the form as runners prepare to enter the action.

Fancies every horse that drifts.

He would last 5 minutes as a punter, good job he is handsome.

Oily MUST be getting paid by the word Cry
Report bilbobaggins August 11, 2012 3:41 PM BST
More nepotism - I'm sure his contacts had nothing to do with him getting that job.

G A Mighty, now his 'dad' rupert is listing the finale credits at the Shergar Cup!
that's him in the brown trousers with the big mike; 'dong dong' for everyone, give me strength.

Verbal diarrhoea overload, he says he's going to make a call to see if there's a headwind at Newmarket Laugh
Report duncan idaho August 11, 2012 4:18 PM BST
Oily is alright but he needs to stop using 'I' a lot less often...it's not about him....besides everyone would have been 'quite taken' by the maiden winner, 'I was quite taken...' just sounds bad

ahh, you know waht i mean Blush

what chance has he - listen to Rupert fluffing at Ascot!

Needs some serious PLUM abstraction imo

now 'cun'ingham is getting in on the act with lydia hislop; he's just swallowed a dictionary and pulling out all kind of 'wordsmiths' for our immediate pleasure.
how do you spell PRETENSHUS?
what a load on this RUK channel, think I'll spare myself and cancel.
Report keynes August 11, 2012 4:53 PM BST
I am quite taken by him, esp compared to the likes of cunningham and nick luck.
Report duncan idaho August 11, 2012 4:54 PM BST
there is indeed an art to filling time....think Neesom is quite good in that studio slot on a saturday
Report MullahOmar August 11, 2012 5:03 PM BST
I am afraid he doesnt do hardly any homework.

He tipped up Uraih's and Sebore - both obvious shart priced lays.

He couldnt understand why Uraihs got beat, well he had never raced on fast grnd before, looked awkward last time and staill hadnt won after a few starts.

Olly informed us after the race that Sabore has a high head carraige and doesnt put it in.

Errrrr instead of just tipping every favourite watch videos and tell us pre race that Sabore is doggy, has had lots of chances and a clear lay at short prices.
Report MullahOmar August 11, 2012 5:04 PM BST
I am afraid its all talk and style in the office but little real insight and hard work done pre racing.

In a straight head to head with jake humphrey on the beeb he's getting his butt kicked.

Mullah, how do you know all this?
Report duncan idaho August 11, 2012 5:12 PM BST
bit harsh, mullah....he is having to cover 2 meetings (15 races)...how many vids do you think he should have watched b4hand? say 4 per race, so 60? takes a long time to watch 60 vids imo
Report Deltâ August 11, 2012 5:13 PM BST
+ he was Australian resident until a few weeks back...
Report Treebeard August 11, 2012 5:13 PM BST
Normally someone else in the studio, who's gone missing?
Report holywell August 11, 2012 5:24 PM BST
He couldn'nt see how Ebony Clarets could beat Annie Walker. Cry I suppose at least he's prepared to express an opinion, any more like that though and he'll be on the fence like most of those pundits.
Report MullahOmar August 11, 2012 5:29 PM BST
DUNCAN - I would expect the presenter who is commenting on who he fancies at newmarket and Redcar (the excellent Cunningham is at Haydock and he watches races properly - no guessing) to have watched at the bare minimum the end of the previous race of 2 very short price favourites!!!!!!!!!!

I mean seriously, you think he is too busy to do that??????
Report millhouse August 11, 2012 5:31 PM BST
Isn't Bell a presenter and Cunningham a pundit..??

For what it's worth I reckon Bell is a lot better than most...
Report holywell August 11, 2012 5:38 PM BST
He was a presenter today. Mischief
Report MullahOmar August 11, 2012 5:40 PM BST
If he is a presenter and not a pundit why is he saying who he thinks will win and who is `overpriced' in every race.
Report millhouse August 11, 2012 5:41 PM BST
Fair enough Mullah...
Report buggs August 11, 2012 5:43 PM BST
Hi, reason i  stated a strong case for Annie Walker (OR 75) carrying 9-1 Ebony Clarets (OR 64) carrying 8-6. I said at the figures its hard to see Ebony Clarets beating Annie Walker and i did fancy Annie Walker on the manner of her victory lto, albeit Ebony was also impressive but in a much weaker race. Obviously i got that wrong!! Sabore, in my opinion last time out had a high head carriage but quickened up past two horses and pulled 3 lengths clear of 3rd. Was beaten by a much better horse in Epoque. Yes he has looked difficult but i thought, on the evidence of last time out, he was good enough to win today.....again didn't quite go to plan. Hope you ignored me and laid them!!!
Report MullahOmar August 11, 2012 5:45 PM BST
Only the likes of Cunningham should give form opinions.

He says `I watched his last run, he hung fire' etc. Or `I must admit I
havnt seen his last run but'.

Not like Bell who seems stunned everytime a short one gets beat because it was top rated on the ratings.

I shouldnt be bothered but just annoying the likes of Olly put people away
and get well paid for doing it.
Report buggs August 11, 2012 5:46 PM BST
Should say She instead of he for Sabore, apologies.
Report holywell August 11, 2012 5:48 PM BST
buggs,

As I said at least you are prepared to express an opinion, on this occasion you got it wrong, like the rest of us you will get many more wrong. I would rather you expressed an opinion and not end up with spelks in your a***.

Good luck for the future.
Report MullahOmar August 11, 2012 5:52 PM BST
Fair play for coming on Buggs.

I was probably a bit harsh but it is very important to look closely at the short ones because so many lazy punters at home will do their dough backing them blind, especially if the `geezer' on the telly fancies them!
Report Deltâ August 11, 2012 7:22 PM BST
stop nicking 'much the best' from Johnson ...
Report Marcce August 11, 2012 11:32 PM BST
If I'd been a geezer on the telly with no financial interest on the race I'd have tipped Sabore as well.

Because when I looked at the race with a view to laying I decided that realistically I would only have had the eventual winner running for me.

From a punting point of view I could leave the race alone. From a tv tipping point of view with a selection expected, tipping the favourite was the percentage call.
