A friend and I both had our Sid James accounts closed in the last few days. The message said they were reviewing all accounts.
No surprises there. I'm just wondering, are Sid James having a massive summer clearout? Did anyone else have their account closed in the last few days?
They don't have any shops on London, surely they can't be making that much from the dreaded FOBT's?

Just remember folks, if they haven't closed your account, they think you're a mug, so you should close your account.
Soon they'll have no accounts.

Just look at their prices on the comparison sites..

Best odds on all the horses that will shorten. They are absolutely clueless.Anyone with a brain cannot last more than a few days.

Fortunately they supply a few Independents Excited so a bit of legwork pays dividends.

Incidentally I do not think that they really exist at all.

They have been set up by the Major "Bookmakers" to offer prices to the smaller bookies in order to hasten the demise of the Independent Operator...

Job nearly done WhoopsWhoopsWhoops

There are others..

Look out for a one man operation where the owner seems stressed..

He has signed up for these chancers  and taken bets at their prices and yet he cannot lay them off...

If I called them a Mickey Mouse firm Walt Disney would spin in his alleged grave...

Wonder how much their mouthpiece is on?

Rory's on TV everyday spouting all kinds of ****, and is probably on no more than £20k given this rancid firms inability to lay a real bet.

Good Morning

Apologies for not responding earlier.

I can advise that Wilsonbet use, as a guideline for their own markets, the Independent Bookmakers Service run by StanJames. This service is also used by numerous Independent Bookmakers around the UK.

The service  provides results and price history for both StanJames and its associates for both betting offices and online bookmakers.

StanJames has a full and precise list of current prices including the history of all in-running prices for events that are displayed by their website.

Wilsonbet has confirmed that the prices quoted by StanJames are used for guideline purposes and that the Wisonbet market is quoted under these circumstances.

Kind regards,

I thought Jenningsbet powered Wilsonbet?

Has anyone ever heard of the IBS?

Sid James' prices are the best out there for the indie to take. IBS is the independent bookmaker's service that SJ run for confirming price change times, times of withdrawal, obscure results etc.

How many shops does Sid James have now?

Must be a lot less than a few years ago.

Much more than a few years ago. I don't know how many shops they have now but I'd guess at around 50 and when they complete the tote/baldfred deal  by buying the shops that the monopolies commission has forced baldie to sell, they will own another 20.

Sid James have the backbone of a jellyfish, but fair play to them as they give it you warts n all as to why they have closed you down.

Very good firm to have an unrestricted acoount with; don't imagine their estate shops are very inviting though: they rescued the welshing Pagebet outlets, a chain so grim it wouldn't be accepted into an Argos catalogue.
