someone please enlighten my how protests work in the UK, australian here.. does the jockey have the right to lodge a protest or is it all done in the view of the stewards

educeee, jockey can lodge objection but it only happens if stewards don't announce enquiry. Unless the hampered horse was beaten a sh hd there's little chance of the winner being thrown out as it would mean the BHA's 90% partners (i.e. the bookies) would have to pay out on both (most of them pay out on disqualified horses).

The stewards continue to baffle with their lack of consistency.

Perhaps the double result is on their minds, as thats two fairly straightforward amended results ( under the rules ), that have stood in the space of 3 days.

Agreed AD. The only way I'd bet on what these drunks decide is if I knew one of them owned one of the horses involved.

The silence from the GC on the bookmaker's 10% partners deciding these things is entirely consistent though.
