I think Silver Buck won in a photo at Hereford one year starting at 1-6.

Amberleigh House. I saw Burton Port win a novice hurdle there. Raya Star ran last year and ended up winning the Scot Champ Hurdle.

yes think bregawn did win there.
they used to have a champion hurdle trial, which threw up gaye brief.
also think stans pride might have won before winning the champion.

fond memories of Viv Bishops Just Jake a regular winner there
not a great horse perhaps but a good honest course specialist you could rely on year in year out

Docklands Express won there over fences and the subsequent Stayers Hurdle winner Balasani won a novice hurdle.

The Champion Hurdle trial was called the Fred Rimell Hurdle in the late 80's, early 90's, but inevitably it got changed to a handicap not long after that.

Would agree that Silver Buck was probably the best though - he won a minor handicap chase as a warm up for Cheltenham when racing had been off for weeks due to bad weather. He had 12st 7lbs and most of the rest had 10st - of course this was back before rating limits removed the chance of top class horses turning up at the lesser tracks.

Wishfull Thinking, Grands Crus (although not a winner), Munlochy Bay.

3 good horses to have run at Hereford in recent years.

Surely some of FRED RIMELL's  Top Stars will have won at Hereford, at some stage.

Captain FORSTER's Chasers, too.

Oliver Carter's Ottery News won around Hereford.  Ottery was an old favourite of mine.  More like an old friend.
