How long can machines keep rising at such a collosal rate?  They must be skinting out the mugs sooner or later.

That equates to a £70m INCREASE year on year for Lads just from machines. If you assume they have about a quarter of all shops then the total rise across the board will be in the region of £300m this year.

I've said this before on here, people are asking why they are not taking bets, closing accounts etc., the prelim 2011 report stated that they opened 50 new shops in 2011 and are opening 60 new shops in 2012, why would you open up shops when you are knocking back what was once your core business, they are lowest opening prices bar none, gotta keep pricing races, afterall that's what licence is issued for, to be a bookies, and lowest prices keep you and all real punters away, so winding down bookies to transition to a casino operator is easier and strenghtens claims that they need to diversify due to decline in bookmaking business. They are in talks alledgedly to buy the purple one, must be some growth in online casino business if shop growth is anything to go on. One of the MAIN POINTS in the report is a committment to lower staff costs, but they are opening new shops at a massive rate. Why? because it requires less manpower to operate a shop filled with machines. They are lobbying hard to massively increase the number of machines per shop. Clive82 provided figures as to the number of existing traders that they employ now and even broke it down to years of service, 172 I think was total number with majority having very high service. No new traders needed, let existing lot fade out thru retirement etc. their own figures in the report show the massive profits in these fobts, they are a business and are about making money, that's fair enough but at what price to society. people should be banging down their MP's doors but nothing will be done by people until their wallet,purse or mobile phone is snatched by someone who just needs his machine fix, been proven that these machines are bad news. Also Ladbrokes are getting the brunt of it here, but all of them are heading the same way. So it is unfair to be giving ladbrokes all the stick. Where do I say that I take morning prices, most bookies are lower than opening show, especially PP, if I'm having a decent bet I would be in the shop for the opening show and take it from there.
