If what Cattermole just said is true & he said Sea Moon ran a 'flat' sort of race, it really does make you wonder what sort of understanding of racereading some of these 'racing managers' bring to the table.......The bloody horse was asked the virtually impossible to make up that sort of ground on proven G1 performers & has probably complete the last half mile quicker than the winner & second.
Idiotic stuff from Grimthorpe. Would he think St Nicholas Abbey also ran 'flat' ?
What a numpty.

The animal has no guts for the fight, end of story.he's ok when he's allowed to do everything easily but against proper horses he downs tools every time. Watch the leger again and tell me he didnt fold up like a kitten. He aint got it and the ride had feck all to do with it IMO.

Your missing the point. In most group 1s (especially one as good as todays) you are going to have to dig in and scrap if you want it. SEA MOON DOES NOT WANT IT.

Obviously he isnt up to this grade, that is a given. But my experience as a race reader says to me that he's a shirker. its just my opinion. He gave up in Leger, he tried to chuck it away against a yak first time out this year and then today. Why people want to with this lad is beyond me. its a game of opinions and that is mine.

He's a nice horse but just not quite top class, is the way I see it. He may go on to prove me wrong, who knows.

I mentioned on another thread the other day that I saw him out on the gallops last week, and he looked in good order, Stoute's lad seemed very happy with him. They've got a very nice horse in good nick, but perhaps just not up to the very top level.
