When you clicked on an individual horse - and it brought a new page up, with the horse's LIFETIME race record -
You only needed to 'Hover' your cursor over the DATE of the RACE - and the 'Comments In Running' for that race appeared in an OVERLAY PANEL...
Now they DON'T - and you have to open the FULL Race up.
--------------------------
You also used to be able to Sort the LIFETIME RESULTS for a horse by -
Date , or - Course, or - GOING - separately .
That OPTION has DISAPPEARED.
To add to the OP's comment.Further to that --' Cursor Hover'When you clicked on an individual horse - and it brought a new page up, with the horse's LIFETIME race record - You only needed to 'Hover' your cursor over the DATE of the RACE - and the 'C

The umpteenth site that has been degraded by a so=called 'upgrade'. Why don't these people consult with users and get feedback on various options before wasting time and money for a step backwards? The old site was excellent . The new one is total rubbish compared to it. Sometimes I despair at the stupidity all round us.

It is one of the biggest bugbears of modern life. So many people work in "IT" now and, to a person, they are inveterate meddlers and love nothing more than "improving" things that are preferctly good anyway and working well. BF used to be the worst culprits in this regard but at least they've cut back on "upgrades" for now and allow people like me to use the much better older versions.

The old site was brilliant for racing and football. Clear easy to read type and fast access to what ever you wanted. It's going to take some time to get used to this new one if ever. The type is too light and doesn't get better when you try to enlarge it. If they just used bold/larger font for the names of the horses and the prices it would be a massive improvement.

like everything when its new it takes a little while to get use to it, I'm sure in a few days you'll be navigating the site just as quick as you did before the changes?.

It isn't as simple as that silvergreaser. I have used the SL racecards every day for years and using the same browser for all those years too. Now most of the "updated" (pfffft yeah right) designed pages are not displayed properly.
Also there are things missing that shouldn't be, like what twomatchpoints mentions in the first post about Sire info etc when you hover your mouse-pointer over the runner.

Betfair, Sportinglife, RBS all applied 'upgrades' that upset their valued customers. Leslie Ash was a beautiful woman before she went for the botox upgrade. There must be a lot of I.T. bods making a lot of money convincing the heads of buisnes that it's worth spending good money to ruin something that works perfectly well. The tale of the Emperor's new clothes comes to mind. Anyone with half a brain can see through the scam, but those with the power would not stoop low enough to ask their opinion.

I've been using Sportinglife as my preferred website for form and results for 6+ years. And its never changed once, with me being a man in his mid thirties that suited me perfectly! I'm not exactly a fan of change, especially when it comes to matters of a technical nature. I have to be honest my heart sank when i saw the new look website. Just like ATR's big upgrade it feels like a step back rather than forward. I guess in a week or two we will all be used to it. In the meantime its a painful experience trying to navigate your way through new pages. With the amount of cr@p racing we have these days its hard enough to squeeze in any form reading in the tiny gap between races without having to deal with this p!sh!

saddo Just seen this too. Wasn't doing that yesterday !! Incredibly, they still seem to be updating the site and making it even worse in the process !!

Decent racing sources that are still free are becoming scarce now and even the pay to view ones could be a whole lot better, Australian and American racing have some Great sites the you pay to view and the race cards are "fantastic" , all the race history at track and other factors all on the same race card, even the trainers stats per horse per track.

America has the biggest number of race courses and though punters are unable to bet freely because restrictions are in place that favor casinos and not bookmakers, this doesn't stop the USA having great tracks and racing form sources, probably the best in the world and the hallmark of the best thoroughbreds is still the ones that race and sire "over the pond"...

In fact to say the wild west was won on the backs of good horses they have let the sleezy casinos that first popped up in the gold rush towns to extact the wealth of the unwise, now rule the roost and it certainly isnt as "fair" as the gambling that we all enjoy in the UK as we have greater freedom and choice and the exchanges have been a blessing to all bettors and represents still the best of British inovation

Tegan 28 Jun 12 16:11 What's actually wrong with it?
The pages don't work properly now, there is text and pictures merging together making it a right mess to look at. There is easily available information that is NOW missing.
It cannot be called an update, it has had a lick of paint at best

Good god, have you not read this thread - there are lots of examples. It also looks like they didn't test for partially abandoned (sorry Abd in SL speak) meetings either, as there is no indication that Newcastle has abandoned half-way through!
We all know how this got passed don't we - do an ar$e-licking presenation where everyone gushes over the "new colours", the "new, improved layout".... do all you can to keep them away from actually USING the site or they'll realise what a backward step it really is.
Grab the payment and run like hell ...

i have to agree with everyones complaints about the sporting life site ,selecting a horse to pop a few quid on used to take 5/10 minutes, unless it was a big handicap race etc, now takes ages ,i emailed them no reply yet,,no breeding info ,owner info ,unless you click to open another page ,click on the win&place tab ,you get the place results only,,its as good as useless now ,i'll give the atr site a try ,or the racing post ,

I see the Sire/Dam/Owner info tool-tip is back now when you hover your mouse-pointer over the runner
Still some layout issues though. Click a runners profile and the first 2 columns ( Date & Pos )are intermingled, so you cant see the finishing position or date
It is nice to know you are listening and still working on it though SL dev team Now one of you go and download Opera web browser from here http://www.opera.com/ and see what i mean about display issues
