long and short of this is i bet a horse in place market in a US race , horse won, my place bet was matched and appeared in betting history as matched but was not paid out. i phoned betfair this am and they said bet was voided as it was matched after the off. my understanding is that Us racing is suspended at off so how could this happen and when can you trust that your matched bet is really matched? wasn't alot of money so no harm done as stake returned but i would like to know what would happen if this happened to the big punters. to me it clearly is an example that betfair is about untrustworthy as the rest of the high street bookmakers and you really dont know where you stand until youve got your money in your pocket.

Late suspend of market?

Does seem odd though and bit worrying going forward, considering US races are far worse than ours for going off late Happy

US racing goes in-play, but very often is not suspended at the off and put in-play, sometimes for a furlong or more, sometimes never at all, and money available way after the finish, but all later voided.

Possibly happened here.

But I agree, that the small punter is probably left guessing as to what's go on, and very little comeback available.

I once waited 3 days for Abdul on "Live Chat" to apply an "Error Fix" - but 10 years is excessive, even for Betfair imo.

Pc2012......have you got a special "Batphone " that gets through to Betfair ? That method of communication is alien to most big companies nowadays.....regretfully.
