I think he just got in from a session commiserating with some pints of lager; and the bile only just came up!

^^^^ thats why you probably work!

I agree it was a bad ride but you took about 10 hours to think about it?
|

By:
muppet! He got it settled well and overtook Opinion Poll - which later came with a winning run - coming into the straight and gave himself a clear run, with every chance, if he would pick up...which he didn´t.
No jockey on the planet would have won on **** today. Pocket Talker. |

Yeah watched it at least ten times, barmy to do that ride with a horse like that. Bet they wish they had used Murtagh.
|
|
By:
Tip, are you mad??? What horse can win coming off a pace 25 secs slower than standard?
|
|
By:
You talk rubbish, fame and glory is a 1m4f, 2mf specalist, today turned into a mile race! Frankel would of won a gold cup today, thats how bad that race was!

If you thought that was bad-and it was-take a look at Sovereign Debt in the first on Tuesday and no- i did not back it thank god!

O'brien wouldn't have a say who rides this horse, Spencer is Fitri Hay's jockey

Flip side of the coin was Spencer's perfect ride on Desert Philospher earlier in the week at Kempton. Fame and Glory has more speed than any horse in that race yesterday (Placed Group 1 form over 10 furlongs with Sea The Stars), the horse didn't fire for whatever reason, it was odd to see him not make the pace or at least sit handy but in my opinion it made no difference, the horse didn't perform, quite why i don't know. Progeny of Montjeu often digress with age which is a factor but he run a smashing trial so it's a little odd if he suddenly turned it in within a couple of months! Ground not an issue either as was arguably softer in the Gold Cup last year and has won before on heavy. Weird race.

The ride on Sovereign Debt was a shameful one,
That was the last horse I ever back with Frank riding it. The media love to love him,but he makes way too many mistakes, with the odd good ride thrown in |
|
By:
I don't agree the media love him, he regularly gets cained on here and i often read comments about him which aren't flattering. The reality is his rides on Cape Blanco in America last season were faultless, his ride on Fame and Glory in last seasons Gold Cup was faultless - all valuable Group 1 races, i thought he should have had the horse either handy or front running yesterday given the lack of pace angle but in my opinion his change of tactic (which i admit was odd) made no difference to the result as Fame and Glory made his challenge in front of Opinion Poll who hit the front before bottling it. Fame and Glory produced a lifeless effort when given the chance to win the race. I didn't see the Sovereign Debt ride so can't comment on it but all jockey make mistakes they aren't robots. If you don't like Spencer's riding style then as you say, you are better off not backing the horses he rides.
